All the designations that are conventionally known in the world, such as earth, women, etc., are called the conventional truth. These are seen by the wisdom of the noble ones who have cleared away the cataracts of ignorance with the eye medicine of emptiness of inherent existence, in a way that they do not see anything, not abiding in any extreme such as existence or non-existence, the suchness that is free from all elaboration is called the ultimate truth. Secondly, there are two parts, the first is to determine the nature of the conventional truth. What is the world? What is convention? Why is it called truth? In response to that, it is said: "The world is well-known as aggregates, the world definitely relies on them." Therefore, the person who is imputed in dependence on the aggregates is called the world. Because it completely obscures, it is convention. Because it obscures the seeing of suchness, the ignorance that is characterized by affliction, which clings to things as real, is called convention. Because convention clings to things as true and names them, it is called conventional truth. But it is not because it exists in meaning and does not deceive, because the noble ones do not see it that way. As it is said: "Because ignorance obscures its own nature, it is called conventional truth. The things that are destroyed by it appear as real to the world. The Buddha said that is conventional truth. Things that are falsely produced are conventionally existent." As it is said. The teacher Legden says: Convention is the terminology of the world, and what is established by it is considered to be conventional truth, and the recognition of the essence is the same as before. So, what is the object that is named conventional truth? As it is said in the Entering the Middle Way: "Whatever is apprehended by the six unimpaired sense faculties, the world says is real. Whatever else is transformed from the world into falsehood, the world says is inverted." As it is said, the appearance of consciousness that arises from the six sense faculties that are not contaminated by the causes of inner and outer confusion, the inner and outer objects such as form, etc., are established as conventional truth because ordinary people cling to them as real and name them. The appearance of consciousness that arises from being contaminated by the causes of confusion, illusions and dreams, and the hair nets of those with cataracts, etc.
