Furthermore, whatever is apprehended, that is not inherently existent. Whatever is apprehended, such as the five aggregates of form, feeling, etc., that is not inherently existent, because it is dependently originated, and it has been extensively refuted in the analysis of the aggregates. If it is thought that although apprehension is not inherently existent, it can arise from other causes and conditions, that is also unreasonable. What does not exist in my own nature, how can it be expected to arise from another? Just like the son of a barren woman, who does not exist in my own nature, cannot be established by another. Therefore, apprehension does not exist. Or, whatever is apprehended, that is not inherently existent, because it depends on the apprehender, and there is no apprehension that does not depend on it. If it is thought that although apprehension is not inherently existent, it is established by depending on the apprehender, then, what does not exist in my own nature, how can it be expected to arise from another? Whatever is apprehended, which does not exist in my own nature, how can it arise from another who is the apprehender? Therefore, apprehension also does not exist. Thirdly, in this way, the apprehended and the apprehender are empty in every way. In this way, when examined in every way, the apprehended and the apprehender are empty in every way and without inherent existence. Therefore, because of emptiness, the Thus-Gone One is empty, how can it be established? Because the aggregates are empty of inherent existence, the Thus-Gone One is also empty of inherent existence, how can it be established? Therefore, it is unreasonable to say that the Thus-Gone One is established by relying on the aggregates. Secondly, showing that the Thus-Gone One is free from extremes, divided into the main text and showing the fault of clinging to extremes. The first part is: Alas! We who have abandoned the liking for the doctrines of the non-Buddhists, who are like the annihilationists and materialists, who perversely teach the path to heaven and liberation, have taken refuge in the Blessed One, the Thus-Gone One, who truly teaches the path to heaven and liberation, in order to seek liberation. Now, in this way, the apprehended and the apprehender are empty in every way. Because of emptiness, the Thus-Gone One is emp

Our saying "How is it designated?" and so on, stating that it is without inherent existence, is cutting off our hope for liberation. Therefore, if you say that arguing with you is enough to uproot the great medicinal tree of the Tathagata, then, because you desire liberation, you have abandoned your fondness for non-Buddhists and taken refuge in the Tathagata, but you cannot bear the lion's roar of selflessness, which is the most profound and not shared by the speech of non-Buddhists. It is precisely because of your own particularly cherished inferiority that you follow the unpleasant path of the wilderness of samsara, stirred up by various wrong views like snakes, traversed by inverted beings. The Tathagata never says that there is a self and aggregates, as it is said in the sutra: "Subhuti, even the Buddha is like an illusion, like a dream; Subhuti, even the dharmas of the Buddha are like an illusion, like a dream." If we slander anywhere and become the fault as stated, then we do not say that the Tathagata is of the nature of non-proliferation, and is non-existent in all respects. Furthermore, wanting to explain the non-inverted meaning of the Tathagata's nature of non-proliferation, we do not say "empty," nor do we say "not empty," nor do we make "two" or "not two." Why is that? Because the object of speech is cessation, and the object of mind is cessation. As the reason stated before. However, if it is not spoken, then those who have realized cannot comprehend the nature of how it abides. Therefore, it is spoken for the sake of designation. Therefore, for the sake of designation, relying on conventional truth, in front of the beings to be tamed, we further impute and say "empty," and "not empty," and "is empty and not not empty," and "is neither empty nor not not empty." With what intention are emptiness and so on spoken? It should be understood as it is said to examine the self. As it is said in the sutra: "You see this sentient being as like an illusion, like a play, like a dream, without self, without sentient being, without life, and without a person."
