Some arise in dependence, and some perish in dependence. Although there is a collection of causes and conditions for arising and perishing, it is not the case for all. Therefore, if you say that there is time, if arising and perishing exist by their own nature, then even if time is their cause, it does not exist. Perishing without arising, or existing together, is not possible. Arising without perishing, or existing together, is not possible. If arising and perishing exist, then do they exist separately without depending on each other, or do they exist together? If we analyze in this way, it does not exist in either way. Why? Perishing does not exist without depending on arising, or together with it. Arising does not exist without depending on perishing, or together with it. Secondly, the statement of the proposition: How can perishing exist without arising? Establishing the consequence of no birth is death. The conclusion of perishing is that there is no arising. How can perishing exist without arising? It is not reasonable to exist. Why is that? Because without birth there will be death, but we have never seen death without birth. Therefore, perishing does not exist without arising. Similarly, perishing does not exist together with arising. How can perishing exist together with arising? Death and birth at the same time, it is not possible to exist. How can perishing and arising exist simultaneously or together? If they exist, then death and birth will occur at the same time. Death and birth are contradictory to each other like light and darkness, so it is impossible to exist at the same time. Therefore, perishing does not exist together with arising. Just as perishing cannot exist without arising or together with arising, so also arising cannot exist without perishing, or together with it. Like this: How can arising exist without perishing? For things, impermanence is never absent. How can arising exist without depending on perishing? It is not reasonable to exist. Because for things that have the nature of arising,

Because impermanence itself never does not exist, all things at all times have the nature of aging and death. If there is something that does not age and die, what kind of existence is that? As it is said, all things are constantly connected with impermanence. Therefore, arising and ceasing cannot not exist. How can arising and ceasing exist simultaneously? Birth and death cannot exist at the same time. How can arising exist simultaneously with ceasing? If it exists, then birth and death would exist at the same time. Because birth and death are contradictory to each other, they cannot exist at the same time. Therefore, arising and ceasing cannot be established together either. Third, how can those things that are not established either simultaneously or non-simultaneously with each other exist? Arising and ceasing, whether they are established simultaneously or non-simultaneously with each other, cannot be established separately, so how can they be established in other ways? There is no other way except for self and other. Second, examining and refuting exhaustion and non-exhaustion: Furthermore, are these arising and ceasing things of the nature of exhaustion or non-exhaustion? Neither case is reasonable. Exhausted things cannot arise. Unexhausted things also cannot arise. Exhausted things cannot cease. Unexhausted things also cannot cease. The nature of exhausted things is that they are destroyed and no longer exist, so it is not reasonable for arising, which contradicts this, to exist. Unexhausted things are indestructible, and they do not possess the characteristics of things, so they cannot arise, like the horns of a donkey. Exhausted things cannot cease, because there is no basis, so ceasing is not reasonable. Unexhausted things also cannot cease, because they do not conform to the characteristics of things. How can something that does not exist cease? Therefore, arising and ceasing do not exist. If arising and ceasing exist, because the things that have the nature on which they depend exist, then if things exist, then the two natures that depend on it, arising and ceasing, will exist, then according to the reasons that have already been said and will be said
