It does not arise from dependence, but exists by its own nature. Such a thing does not arise and does not cease, because there is no alteration in its own nature. Therefore, if one thinks it is not empty, then the result would also become unceasing and unborn, but such a thought is not the case. Therefore, the result is not non-empty, because it has been admitted that it arises and ceases. If the result is emptiness, then truly speaking, arising and ceasing are unreasonable. For example: How can emptiness arise? How can emptiness cease? Emptiness will also not cease, nor will it be born. Because emptiness refers to the absence of inherent existence, how can the result of the nature of emptiness arise? And how can it cease? Just like the sky and other things that lack inherent existence, we have not seen them arise or perish. Therefore, if one thinks that the result is emptiness, then emptiness will also become unceasing and unborn. Ninth, furthermore, if the cause produces the effect, does that cause produce it in a way that is different from or not different from the effect? Neither way is reasonable. Cause and effect are one, and it will never be reasonable. Cause and effect are other, and it will never be reasonable. How is this vow established? When cause and effect are one, what is produced and what produces will become one. When cause and effect are other, cause and non-cause will become the same. If cause and effect are one, then at that time what is produced and what produces will become one, which is also unreasonable. Because father and son, eye and eye consciousness, seed and sprout, etc., would also become one. If cause and effect are other, then the effect will become independent of the cause, because the mutual oneness and otherness are established separately. For those causes and effects, otherness is also unreasonable, because the cause of the sprout is the seed, and the non-cause is fire and charcoal, etc., both of which are other than the sprout. Either both are the causes of the sprout, or both are not causes, and they will become the same. Tenth, if the cause produces the effect, then

Does the fruit arise from being inherently existent or non-existent? Neither is reasonable. If the fruit is inherently existent, then what does the cause produce? If the fruit is inherently non-existent, then what does the cause produce? If the fruit is inherently existent, then what does the cause produce at that time? Because it already exists, like a pot that already exists. What does the cause produce for that which is inherently non-existent? Because it is not inherently existent, like a donkey's horn. If the cause prevents the production of the fruit, even so, the cause exists, and if the cause exists, the fruit also exists, because there is no cause without a fruit. If you say: it does not produce, then the cause itself is not reasonable. In the manner described above, if the cause does not produce the fruit, then the cause of the cause itself is not reasonable, because it is from the production of the fruit that it is established as a cause. If you say there is no cause, even so, the fruit exists, and without a cause, the fruit does not exist, so the cause also exists. If you say: is the cause itself not reasonably existent? Whose will the fruit be? When the nature of the cause is not reasonably existent at the time of non-production, whose will the fruit be? Therefore, the fruit also does not exist. Second, summarizing the meaning: Furthermore, if the cause produces the fruit, then does it produce the nature of the cause, or not? The first is unreasonable, because without obtaining its own entity, one does not see the act of combining, so inevitably the aggregate must obtain its own entity, and obtaining its own entity cannot be the self-generation of the self, therefore, the aggregate does not generate its own nature. The first view is unreasonable, like this: The aggregate of all causes and conditions, if it does not generate its own self, how does it generate the fruit? The aggregate of causes and conditions such as seeds does not generate its own self, because acting on the self is contradictory, and the generation of the self is also meaningless. That which does not generate the self, it
