Both of these are not understood, and that is why they are completely provoked. In this way, just as it was said before, merely by stating the contradictions within one's own system and the faults that contradict worldly conventions, one can refute the opponent. If it is said that misperception and doubt can only be dispelled by valid cognition, and not by other means, therefore it is necessary to show inference. Even so, self-inference is meaningless, because the opponent himself or the reason and example that are universally accepted in the world can refute the opponent. For example, the Samkhyas believe that the pot, which exists in the lump of clay in an unmanifested form, is produced, and they do not believe that the manifested pot in front of them is also produced. Then the unmanifested pot is also not produced, because it already exists in its own nature. For example, like the manifested pot. When this is established, the reason, example, and subject are all without fault in the Samkhya system. If the Samkhyas believe that existence itself is produced, then the pervasion of the reason is not established. Then, when the Buddhist says to the Vaisheshikas, "Sound is impermanent, because it exists. For example, like a pot," why does the opponent not consider the reason to be uncertain, since atoms and space, etc., are also considered to be permanent? To that, it is said that the example of the pot is pervaded by impermanence, so it is not uncertain. Here, existence is meaningless for production, so why can't pervasion be established on the pot in front of us? Therefore, the three aspects of this reason are established only for the Samkhyas, so for them, this reason is without fault. If it is said that even if it is established for the opponent, the subject is not established for the Madhyamika himself, so it will be a fault of contradicting the thesis and the reason not being established. The Madhyamika establishes the reason and example in order to prevent the opponent's thesis, not to establish his own view, so there is no fault in not establishing the subject and reason, etc., in himself. If it is said that what is completely established for both is the establishment, then in inference for others, is it not the case that what is established for both the proponent and the opponent is the main thing? That is to establish one's own system.

It is already mastered. In order to dispel the wrong conceptions of others, it is most important that only oneself is established. It is not that both are established, because in debate, merely stating the contradictions in one's own words and promises can refute the opponent. Thus, in the manner described above, merely stating the inference that follows the fame of others can satisfy those who hold inference as the main opponent. Therefore, in order to refute other systems, applying self-sufficient inference is meaningless. If it is said that refuting others is not necessary, but in order to establish one's own side, one needs self-sufficient signs and examples, then establishing one's own side also does not need self-sufficiency, because the Madhyamikas do not accept any of their own sides. In this way, those who have previously attained understanding only accept the meaning established by the reliable measure in which they trust, and do not accept what is not established by the measure, because that would be to have not previously attained understanding. The Madhyamikas only have the wisdom of the noble meditative equipoise as infallible, so it is the measure. But the manifest and inferential that are known as measures in the world are not reliable measures, because they are deceptive, like the consciousness that grasps water in a mirage. Therefore, in the King of Samadhi Sutra it says: "The eye and nose and ear are not measures; the tongue and body and mind are not measures. If these faculties were measures, what use would the noble path be to anyone? Therefore these faculties are not measures, and inanimate objects are by nature unpredetermined. Therefore, whoever desires the path of nirvana should do the work of the noble path." Thus it was declared. If even a particle of dust is not established by the wisdom of the noble ones, what does the Madhyamika accept as his own side? If it is said that there is no acceptance in the ultimate sense, but in the conventional sense one must accept cause and effect, etc., otherwise one will fall into great sin by slandering seen and unseen things. Then, did the Madhyamika say that there is no cause and effect, etc. in the conventional sense? Why would it be slander? If it is said that although he did not say that there is none, he did not accept that there is, so if he does not accept that there is, he will fall into sin, then accepting that there is will
