Because one has become the agent, one does not do what has not become the action. Here too, that fault would occur. Because one has become the agent, for doing the action, there is no need to do what has already become. It would also become an action without an agent. Because that fault would occur. Moreover, one does not do what has not become the action, because if there is no cause, there is no result, and the cause would not be established. Because that fault would occur. One who has not become the agent does not do what has become the action. Because if one who is not the agent does the action, it would become the fault of "if there is no cause, there is no result." For doing what has become the action, it would become the fault of "there is no need to do what has already become, and without action, one would become the agent." Secondly, pointing out faults by analyzing each word with two words: Because the agent is what has become, and accompanied by the action that has not become, and what has become and not become, one does not do it. Because the reason has been shown above. Because the agent is what has become, and accompanied by the action that has not become, and what has become and not become, one does not do it. Because "there is no need to do what has already become," the reason has been shown above. One does not do what has not become the action, because the action has no cause. Because "if there is no cause, there is no result," etc., the reason has been shown above. One does not do what has become and not become the action, because "what is and is not become one, how can there be mutual contradiction," the reason has been shown above. Because the agent is what has not become, accompanied by the action that has become, and what has become and not become, one does not do it. Because the reason has been shown above. One who has not become the agent does not do it because "if there is no cause, there is no result," so the reason has been shown above. One does not do what is accompanied by the action that has become, because "there is no need to do what has already become," so the fault has already been pointed out. One does not do the action that has become and has not become, because "what is and is not become one," so it is said. The agent is what has become and not become, the action is what has become and not become, the reason for not doing this should be known to have been shown above. The agent is what has become and what has not become itself does not do it, because "what is and is not become one, how can there be mutual contradiction," so the reason

It should be understood as explained above. What has become karma is not done, and there is nothing to do for what has become existent. Without karma, one also becomes an agent, because it is said. What has not become karma is also not done, because without a cause, there is no result, as has already been said. Therefore, it is not reasonable in any way for an agent and the accomplishment of karma to exist for those who are in accordance or not in accordance. Secondly, showing dependent arising: If there is no agent and karma, etc., in this way, then are things said not to exist? If you ask. For those who say that things have inherent existence, it is possible to completely deny separation from things. But for us who say that things arise dependently and are without inherent existence, what will be denied? As it is said in the Ratnavali: For a mirage, thinking 'this is water' and going there, if one thinks that the water does not exist, that is foolishness. Similarly, for the world like a mirage, thinking that it exists as a true nature, or thinking that it does not exist as a true nature, holding this view is ignorance, and if there is ignorance, there will be no liberation. Because of not understanding, previously clinging to things as having a true meaning, and only later determining their true meaning. When the inherent nature of things, as described above, is not observed, then how can non-things exist? Like this. Therefore, conventional things, like the water of a mirage, are established only by acknowledging that they are dependent arising from this mere condition, and not by anything else. For example: The agent depends on the action, and the action also depends on the agent itself, and apart from dependent arising, no cause for accomplishment is seen. Because not doing any action is not the agent itself, therefore the agent depends on the action. Because what the agent is doing is called action, therefore the action also arises depending on the agent itself, and apart from these, no other cause for the accomplishment of the two is seen. Secondly, comparing this reason to others: Similarly, the near-taking should be understood, in order to eliminate action and agent. Just as action and agent depend on each other to be established, and not by inherent nature.
