Cessation also will not cease, because there is no such thing as ceasing, and because it would entail cessation becoming two. Furthermore, since birth has already been refuted, what will cease since it is unborn? It is like the horns of a rabbit that do not cease. Moreover, does this cessation occur for something that exists or does not exist? Neither is reasonable. For the moment, for something that exists, cessation is not reasonable. For the moment, for something that exists without being destroyed, cessation, which contradicts it, is not reasonable. For something that does not exist, cessation is also not reasonable. For something that does not exist, that is, for something that is nonexistent, cessation is not reasonable. Furthermore, if cessation exists, does that state itself cease itself, or does something else cease something else? Neither is acceptable. That state by that state, it is not possible for itself to cease itself. Another state by another state, another cessation is also not possible. For the moment, the state of milk will not be ceased by the state of milk itself, because it is contradictory for oneself to act on oneself. Another state of yogurt will also not cease another state of milk, because the state of yogurt does not exist in the state of milk. If it is said that even though that state itself is not destroyed by itself and others, nevertheless, because there is cessation in the state of milk, there is also birth, then, alas! You appear to be very foolish. According to the way previously explained: When the birth of all phenomena is unreasonable, it has been said, at that time the cessation of all phenomena is also unreasonable, has it not been clearly shown? Furthermore, if cessation exists, does cessation exist in something that exists or does not exist? For the moment, for something that exists, cessation is not reasonable. Because in one thing, thing and non-thing are not reasonable. For something that exists, whose nature has not disappeared, cessation is not reasonable, because cessation is the non-existence of thing. In one thing, it is not reasonable for thing and non-thing to exist simultaneously. Just as cessation is not reasonable for something that exists, cessation is also not reasonable for something that becomes non-existent. Cessation is also not reasonable for something that becomes non-existent, that is, for something that is nonexistent. Beginning.

Secondly, how is it? It is like that which is indivisible. It is like that which is known as having no second head, as indivisible. Furthermore, if that which is called 'cessation' causes things to cease, does cessation require another cessation, or does it not? Cessation is not by its own nature, nor is it by another. Just as arising is not caused by itself or by another. Cessation is not ceased by its own nature, nor is it caused to cease by another, just as arising is not caused by itself or by another, it should be understood thus. Like this: 'How does that which is unborn generate itself?' and so on. Similarly, 'How does that which is unceased cease itself? If cessation causes cessation, then what is there to be ceased when it has ceased?' It should be applied thus. If, as it is said, 'If by another arising,' and so on, if by another destruction, then that destruction would be endless. If that which is indestructible is destroyed, then everything would be destroyed in the same way. It should be said thus. If, in that way, it is analyzed by reasoning, then for you also, the characteristics of conditioned phenomena such as arising, etc., would not disappear, would they? If analyzed, it does disappear, but there is no fault, because we acknowledge arising, etc., as they are known in the world, but we do not acknowledge them as truly existent. Worldly beings cling to the nature of things as appearing like illusions, without inherent existence, and manifest attachment to arising and ceasing, and apply the terms of arising, etc. The Madhyamikas also merely acknowledge those terms as they are in the world. If, even though the general characteristics of conditioned phenomena such as arising, etc., are negated, conditioned phenomena exist because there are specific characteristics such as hardness, etc., and concealment, etc., then, arising, abiding, and ceasing, etc., because they are not established, there are no conditioned phenomena. As it has been said, because the characteristics of conditioned phenomena such as arising, abiding, and ceasing, etc., are not established, there are no conditioned phenomena. Since there are no conditioned phenomena, how could there be its specific characteristics? Secondly, incidentally refuting the unconditioned: If it is thought that conditioned phenomena exist because their opposite, the unconditioned, exists.
