Then, how does the arising of arising generate the fundamental arising? Because the accomplishment of the arising of arising depends on the fundamental arising. If your root, with the arising that generates the root, then, that root that it did not generate, how does it generate that? If you want to abandon that fault, the arising of arising, with the root generating that root, then, the arising of arising, the root that it did not generate, how does it generate that arising of arising? Because the accomplishment of the fundamental arising depends on the arising of arising. If the fundamental arising is arising, with the arising itself generating the arising of arising, and it generates the fundamental arising, then, if that which is not arisen, is able to generate that, your arising one, depends on wanting to generate that. The arising one is the future unarisen, and if the unarisen is able to generate that unarisen, your fundamental arising, the arising one, if it depends on wanting to generate that arising of arising, then, the unarisen is not able to generate another unarisen, just like the son of a barren woman cannot generate the horns of a rabbit. Second, stating the former's view: From where does it become endless arising, for arising there is no other arising. Then what is it? Just like a lamp itself and others, appear, likewise arising also generates both its own and others' things. Just as a lamp is the nature of appearance, therefore it manifests its own nature and others such as a vase, likewise arising is also the nature of arising, therefore it generates both its own and others' things, if it is said to be arising, second, refuting that, there is refutation by example, refutation by meaning, the first of the two is: A lamp does not illuminate both itself and others, where are the lamps, when it exists there is no darkness, what does a lamp illuminate? It illuminates by dispelling darkness. A lamp is known as illuminating by dispelling darkness, then, what darkness does it dispel to become illuminating its own nature? For the time being, its own nature has no darkness, because it is contradictory. What darkness does it dispel to make the lamp illuminate others? Lamp

Even where a lamp is present, there is no darkness. Therefore, what does a lamp illuminate regarding its own nature and that of others? It does nothing at all. If it is said that it is not right to say that a lamp does not dispel darkness, because a lamp dispels darkness as it arises, then, when a lamp is arising, if it does not encounter darkness, how can a lamp dispel darkness as it arises? When a lamp is arising, that is the future, and darkness is the present; because the times are different, if there is no encounter, how can a lamp dispel darkness as it arises? If, like the eye seeing forms without contact, a lamp dispels darkness without contact, then, even if the lamp does not make contact, if it dispels darkness, then all the darkness existing in the entire world would be dispelled by the lamp existing in this place, because not contacting is the same, just like being present nearby. This principle can also be applied to wisdom destroying ignorance, the eye seeing forms, and a magnet attracting iron without contact, and so on. In conventional truth, as it is commonly said in the world, without analyzing contact or non-contact, a lamp dispels darkness, wisdom destroys ignorance, and so forth, we accept these statements. Furthermore, if a lamp illuminates its own and others' entities, then darkness, being the opposite, would undoubtedly obscure both its own and others' entities. If darkness obscures itself, then because it obscures, it would become imperceptible, like a pot and other things. The second part includes: refuting self-origination, refuting other-origination, and refuting arising-in-the-process-of-arising. The first part is: Furthermore, if this arising causes its own self, is it caused by something that has already arisen or something that has not arisen? If this arising is unarisen, how does it cause its own self? If it is caused by something that has already arisen, then what is there to cause if it has already arisen? If arising is unarisen, how does it cause its own self? If it causes, then
