If it is said, because there is a basis for the goer. If the goer does not exist, then going is not reasonable. If there is no going, how can the goer exist? If the goer exists, then going should also exist, but if the goer does not exist, because there is no goer, the statement relying on going is not reasonable. Why is there no goer? Because the agent depends on the action, as mentioned before, if there is no action of going, then how can the goer, as its basis, exist? Therefore, going and the goer are mutually dependent, and if one does not exist, the other cannot be established. If going exists, because its sound expresses things related to it. If there is no going, then it is not reasonable to say "Devadatta goes," just as one cannot say "a person with a staff" if there is no staff. If it is said like this, then saying "Devadatta goes" is just an unexamined convention, not the truth. It is like this: For the time being, the goer does not go, the non-goer is not going, other than the goer and the non-goer, who will go? If going exists, then is it the goer, or the non-goer, or something else other than these two that goes? For the time being, the goer does not go, this will be explained by the following three verses. The non-goer is separated from the action of going, and if it is called the goer, then it contradicts the meaning, therefore the non-goer is not going. If one thinks about who is going, then who will go other than the goer and the non-goer? Because there is no such person. Therefore, there is no going. The second case is: If the non-goer does not go, and does not include these two, then only the goer goes? When going does not exist, the goer is not reasonable. For the time being, how can the goer go reasonably? When saying the phrase "the goer goes," the action of going is one, and it is also said "going" because of it, but the person called the goer does not have a second action of going, therefore, when there is no action of going, it is not logical to call it the goer, therefore, for the time being, the goer goes

How can this statement be considered entirely reasonable? Even if we concede that the word "going" has meaning, the word "goer" is devoid of meaning. If it is said that the goer, who possesses the act of going, is going, then towards what direction is the goer going? For going, there is no going, It should necessarily become the sound of going, Because the goer desires to go. The objector, in any case, the goer who possesses the act of going, for that going, it will become the sound of going without the act of going, because there is no second act of going, and because the goer who possesses the act of going wants to go. Therefore, from this perspective, although the word "goer" has meaning, the word "going" becomes meaningless. If it is thought that both "goer" and "going" possess the act of going, then, If the goer will go, Then there will be the fault of two goings, With what does the appearance of the goer manifest, After becoming the goer, where does one go? If both the words "goer" and "going" possess the act of going, then there will be the fault of two acts of going, because with which act of going does the appearance of the goer manifest is one, and after becoming the goer, where one goes is the second act. Third, refuting the proof of the existence of going, divided into: refuting the proof of the existence of creation, refuting the proof of the existence of obstacles, and refuting the proof of the existence of contradiction. The first aspect is: if it is said that going exists, because there exists the creation of going, then, On the path already gone, there is no going, On the path not yet gone, there is also no going, On the path being gone, there is no creation, Where is the going created? If going is created, then is it created on the path already gone, or the path not yet gone, or the path being gone? First, on the path already gone, there is no creation of going, because the path already gone is where the act of going has ceased, and creating the present going there is contradictory. On the path not yet gone, there is also no creation of going, because the path not yet gone is the future where the act of going has not yet arisen, and the future and the present are contradictory. On the path being gone, there is no creation of going, because there is no path being gone that is different from the path already gone and not yet gone, and it would fall into the fault of two acts, and it would...
