The scribe of the monk Yönnu Lodrö was Hari Bhadra. May virtue and goodness increase! Shubham. Previous response from Lama Drubpa Palwa. Previous response from Lama Drubpa Palwa. To answer your questions briefly: In general, whether the essence of Dharma practice is correct or incorrect, if the view is in accordance with any of the four philosophical schools, and the conduct is in accordance with any of the three vehicles, then it is not incorrect. If it is not, even if it seems profound, it is incorrect. In that case, your mind, awareness, emptiness, union, free from the four extremes of elaboration, the basis itself, the view free from acceptance, meditating by placing it in harmony with the view, practicing by accepting and rejecting good and bad as if they were illusions, the blending of the base and the path into one, the transformed mind being the fruit, if this is in accordance with the philosophical schools: If practiced by those of sharp faculties, it is the system of the Yogachara Madhyamaka. If practiced by those of middling faculties, it is the Chittamatra. Those of lesser faculties believe that liberation comes from recognizing the self-knowing being of wisdom, liberated from the grasped and the grasper, which is the system of the Samkhya. Considering meditation without conceptual thoughts as the yoga of the Prajnaparamita, there is a danger of straying into the system of the Chinese Hwashang. Therefore, even for the great masters of the past, some followers of Jetsun Milarepa and his sons, the Yogachara Madhyamaka, appear to have the view of Chittamatra false aspectarians, while others appear to have the view of true aspectarians. Chöje Sakya Pandita said, "Fools meditating on the Great Seal, mostly go to the realm of animals." This refers to ordinary practitioners of the Great Seal. Therefore, it is very important to examine a lama who possesses realization for a long time. Nowadays, there are many meditators who only have a little bit of mental stability and vague experiences, and then claim to have cut through from within their bonds, but they cannot solve anything. Also, saying that when in equipoise, after the coarse grasping has ceased, there is a clear, empty, blissful awareness, that is not a good experience of shamatha. When boasting about the essence of vipashyana, it is said that without this, it is not possible, and that this alone is not enough. The clarity of this is vipashyana, and the state of abiding is shamatha, so the union of shamatha and vipashyana is the Great Seal of the path. Also, when introducing monasteries and so on, there is no vipashyana here. Clarity cannot replace vipashyana. The cause of vipashyana is emptiness.

Therefore, it is necessary to have a pure view arising from hearing and thinking that cuts through superimpositions. By placing this view on the good horse of calm abiding and continuously guarding it with mindfulness and awareness, a superior insight realization that cuts through superimpositions on reality with experiential power will arise. Relying solely on calm abiding can only suppress afflictions, but it cannot eliminate the seeds of affliction, thus it cannot lead to the path of liberation. In the *King of Samādhi Sūtra*, it says, "Although worldly people meditate on samādhi, they cannot eliminate the notion of self. It causes afflictions to arise again and again. The practitioner of insight meditates on samādhi here." This means that the samādhi with insight that realizes emptiness can become the path to liberation. Again, in the same sūtra, it says, "If one individually realizes the selflessness of phenomena, if one individually realizes and meditates on it, that is the cause for obtaining the fruit of nirvāṇa. What other cause can bring about peace?" And in the *Ornament of the Middle Way*, it says, "After a wise person becomes accustomed to the selflessness of phenomena, the afflictive obscurations arising from inversion will be completely eliminated." Therefore, after gaining the stability of calm abiding, one must strive to cultivate the wisdom of insight. The cause of insight is a pure view that cuts through superimpositions on reality. And to obtain this view, one must rely on a wise and learned lama and cut through superimpositions through hearing and thinking about the profound sūtras and tantras. Furthermore, in the post-meditation period, if one guards all appearing and sounding phenomena as illusory with mindfulness, then the state of "being completely cut off at the root, disappearing like a lamp in the wind" will be very easily realized on the path. At that time, the mindfulness of illusion-like phenomena itself is insight, so it is very important to maintain this mindfulness, without interruption by other thoughts, until the banner of calm abiding falls. Many of the so-called profound path practices nowadays are actually practices of conceptual thought, and are said to be without essence, because they have not understood the key point of insight. For ordinary beings, calm abiding can arise without conceptual thought, but insight arises with conceptual thought. By becoming accustomed to this conceptual insight, eventually the non-conceptual wisdom of the noble path will arise. Furthermore, Dharma Lord Sakya does not accept the fourth empowerment of the example mahāmudrā. They consider the wisdom of the third empowerment to be the example mahāmudrā, and the wisdom of the fourth empowerment to be the actual mahāmudrā. All cycles of time.
