The subtle stains have been removed. Thus, the first Dharma is: only the meaning of guidance; the middle is also mainly the meaning of guidance; the last is purely the ultimate meaning. Also, the first Dharma is like the preliminary of guidance; the middle is like the main practice; the last is like an introduction, it is also considered that way. Therefore, in the sutras of the last Dharma, the Tathagatagarbha in the continuum of sentient beings, possessing the characteristics of permanence, stability, and non-fabrication, adorned with marks and signs, clear and endowed with qualities, what is said is the ultimate meaning, and although it is in a state of impurity at the base, the yogi purifies the stains by practicing the path, and in the fruition, the stains are removed, and the fruition Dharmakaya is manifested. That is indicated by names such as Suchness, the true limit, the Svabhavikakaya, and the Dharmakaya in the Paramita Vehicle, and it is said that the meaning is the same. Buton Rinpoche said: The first Dharma is only spoken to the Shravaka Vehicle, so it is only the meaning of guidance. The middle Dharma is spoken only to the retinue Bodhisattvas, so it is only the ultimate meaning. The last Dharma is spoken to the retinue who have entered various vehicles, so there are both guiding and ultimate meanings. In particular, the sutras that show that the Tathagatagarbha exists in sentient beings are the sutras of guiding meaning. The reference is to the stainless seeds that exist in the Alaya consciousness. For example, if it is said that butter exists in the raw material of butter, yogurt or milk, then it is not a lie. Therefore, the Tathagatagarbha exists only in the Buddha, and sentient beings do not have it at all. Dharma Lord Sakya Pandita also said: The Tathagatagarbha spoken in that way is of guiding meaning. The reference is to the nature of mind, free from elaboration. The necessity is to eliminate the five faults mentioned in the Uttaratantra, such as discouragement, contempt for sentient beings, etc. If there is such a Tathagatagarbha that directly harms reality, then there is no difference from the heretics who acknowledge the self as the basis of bondage and liberation. These are just roughly mentioned, if you say it in detail, it is boundless. This is the section of the first question. Regarding the second question, Lord Atisha, etc.

Why is great compassion praised? Great compassion is the root of all omniscient dharmas. Initially, the aspiration to attain Buddhahood for the sake of others and the making of prayers, etc., are also due to the power of great compassion. In the middle, accumulating the two accumulations for the sake of others with immeasurable difficulties is also due to its power. Finally, turning the wheel of Dharma after attaining Buddhahood is also due to its power. Therefore, great compassion is the power of the Great Vehicle, the uncommon supreme path of skillful means. Therefore, it is praised in various ways in all the sutras and teachings of the Great Vehicle. Even if emptiness is realized, if it is separated from skillful means and compassion, one will fall into the realm of Hearers and Solitary Realizers, so it is not praised as much. What are the differences between the four root schools of the Hearers and the eighteen schools that branched out from them? Sakya Pandita, the master of wisdom, said: The four root schools were taught by the Sage (Shakyamuni Buddha) with four different Vinaya schools and four different languages. The eighteen schools that branched out from them also have eighteen different Vinayas with different internal differences. Therefore, the way of taking vows at the beginning, the way of keeping them in the middle, the way of modifying them later, and the way of abandoning them at the end, etc., are said to be different for each school. However, since we have not seen the practices and Vinayas of other schools, it is difficult to explain the differences in detail. However, there is this much investigation into this: When King Dharma Ashoka (धर्म अशोक,Dharma Ashoka) became the patron and the Third Council was held, the schools were not in harmony with each other and there was a great dispute over whether or not they were the teachings. When the Sangha was unhappy, they found the sutra of the dream omen prophecy of King Krikri, and everyone was included in the Buddha's teachings, and the dispute was eliminated. It is said that if the Buddha had taught the four Vinaya Pitakas to the four root schools, then the four root schools and the schools that branched out from them would have appeared when the Bhagavan was alive, and later there would not have been a dispute among the schools as to whether or not they were the teachings, I think. If the Great Vehicle existed when the Bhagavan was alive, but later there was a dispute that the Great Vehicle was not the Buddha's word, it would be like (this situation). It is not like that, after the Bhagavan passed away into Nirvana
