The single-pointedness of mind, which is the nature of wisdom, is the nature of all Buddhas, the cessation of elaborative characteristics, merely conventional appearances, and the union of all emptiness and luminosity, indivisible, abiding in the state of all emptiness and luminosity without attachment. The nature of all Buddhas is peaceful; all abide in the sky. Thus the words are translated. Therefore, the fifth branch of meditation, single-pointedness of mind, is the ultimate result of action, the wisdom of union, because when action is perfected, union will be attained. The ancients explained it this way: "If the five desires are briefly summarized, they are associated with the five Buddhas." That is, contemplating the five objects of desire as the five Buddhas is the isolation of the body of the object. "The three secrets arise as discrimination," that is, contemplating the three—object, sense faculty, and consciousness—as the five Tathagatas is the isolation of the body common to the generation stage practitioner. "Examining its enjoyment," that is, carefully examining the hundred families, five families, three families, and even one family, is the uncommon isolation of the body of the completion stage practitioner. The touch of bliss is the benefit of body isolation, because entering into the suchness of the vajra recitation's wind, mantra, and sound is directed towards manifestation, it is characterized by mental happiness. Then, the benefit of perfecting the third branch, the recitation of life-force, in speech isolation is encompassed by bliss, that is, by perfecting the practice of gross material wind, the elements are harmonized, and the movement of wind becomes clear. By perfecting the practice of subtle material wind, tactile bliss arises, and the ability to move the wind to the left and right arises. By perfecting the practice of clear and mixed consciousness wind, the ability to mix internal and external winds arises, and the ability to harmlessly gather wind arises. Thus, from the perfection of speech isolation, mind isolation arises, that is, "knowing and what is known arise and cease," etc., which shows mind isolation. Its benefit is that all Buddhas are truly realized, the illusory body is shown, and the ultimate truth is shown through peace. Thus it is explained. The third branch, life-force exertion, is the nature of the five wisdom winds, the essence of the five elements. Having extracted it in the form of a lump.

Upon the tip of the lotus, contemplate well. Precious five colors and, life and effort are said. One's own mantra in the heart, thinking of life becoming a bindu, abide. Thus, contemplate well, that is, meditate. Where to meditate? The yogi at the tip of the vajra, and the yogini at the tip of the lotus. What to meditate on? The breath of the nature of the five wisdoms, such as a mirror, the nature of the five elements such as wind and earth, whatever that is. By what means to meditate? That very wind of the nature of the five wisdoms, etc., melting with the fire of great desire as the father and mother enter into equality, in the form of a pellet, that is, extracting the nature of the bodhicitta bindu. How to meditate? Meditate on the bindu or the subtle form of one's own deity. This shows the subtle yoga based on the lower gate of the generation stage, but the actual life effort shown here is not the actual teaching. Thinking, that is, meditating. Where? In the heart, that is, in the lotus of the heart. What to meditate on? Because it nourishes, it is life, and because speech arises from all and grows long, it is effort, that is, wind. The difference is that when the jewel of the Buddha is generated, it is a jewel, and because it is the nature of the five Tathagatas, it is five-colored because it has five rays of white, etc. How to meditate on that? That wind of five colors goes upwards, and when it travels in the nostrils of conventionality, by the nature of the three letters of entering, abiding, and rising, it is called one's own mantra because it is repeated day and night, in the manner of repeating one's own mantra in that way. Life is wind. Bindu is the indestructible source of wind. Abiding in that is to do vajra recitation in the way of knowing that the wind itself arises from emptiness and dissolves into emptiness. The fourth limb, explaining the limb of holding: Self-power, precious, preventing, grasping and grasper are said to be. Self is form, etc. Power is the eye, etc. These two, object and power, are destroyed by the two meditations, and when they are prevented and dissolved, the mind that is the basis of object and power below that, the class of mind.
