Therefore, the letters of mantras vanish as soon as they arise, like the sky. How could they generate a body? If someone says that they exist in the state of meditation, then even in the state of meditation, there is no form of the deity. So, in reality, there is no deity to meditate on in conceptual yoga. Therefore, the Clear Light Dharmakaya, the Illusory Body Sambhogakaya, and the Three Solitudes Nirmanakaya should all be completely abandoned, because the Three Solitudes together with the Illusory Body are meditations with signs, and the Clear Light is falling into the extreme of quiescence. Therefore, what is to be practiced is the state of the Great Vajradhara, the nature of the indivisibility of the three bodies and non-abiding nirvana. This shows that one should meditate, that is, one should practice. Where should one practice? In the union of the two truths, which is the nature of the diamond-like samadhi of the generation stage, which is examined by the five lights of the mantra. By what method? "In the nature of body, speech, and mind, this is summarized and examined." This means that the mind solitude, which is preceded by body solitude and speech solitude, is the wisdom of the nature of body, speech, and mind, and the three emptinesses of the nature of method, skillful means, and proximate attainment. After examining these, that is, after fully understanding them, these three emptinesses just mentioned, in short, transform the conventional truth into an illusory body. This is to say that this shows the meditation on the illusory body preceded by the three solitudes. That illusory body is destroyed by the two meditations, and joined with enlightenment, that is, with clear light, that is, absorbed into clear light. Now, beginning with the third chapter, the subtle yoga of the speech lineage will be explained in detail, which is divided into two parts: connecting with the words of the compiler, and explaining the subtle yoga with the words of the teacher. The first part is: "After the teaching of the completion stage, the command was given." This is the connection. Where was it given? In the excellence of meditation that will appear below. By whom was it given? By the most excellent of all the Buddhas, namely, the omniscient Mind Vajra. Its characteristic is: being endowed with the two accumulations, therefore it is glorious. Holding the five-pronged vajra is the meaning of the letters.

Because of possessing the nature of the five wisdoms, one is called Vajradhara, which is the general meaning. Because of holding the body of the nature of mind, one is called Vajradhara, which is the hidden meaning. Because of holding the vajra of non-dual wisdom, one is called Vajradhara, which is the ultimate meaning. Because all the goddesses, such as Caksurmati, make offerings, one is offered by all the Tathagatas. In the Teacher's teachings, the explanation of subtle yoga is divided into two parts. The first part is a brief explanation of the subtle yoga that precedes the deity yoga: Before the practitioner of union meditates on the subtle yoga, one should visualize the illusory body residing in the center of the sphere of space, and then dissolve it into clear light. Again, from the mandala of the moon, through the three appearances of direct and reverse order with the winds, one should meditate on and generate the Sambhogakaya. After that, as it says, "The Buddha image should be well meditated upon," one should practice following any one, such as Akshobhya. One should generate oneself as the Nirmanakaya accomplished from the subtle particles of all the Tathagatas, and then begin to practice the subtle yoga that will be explained below. The detailed explanation is divided into two parts: the root vajra recitation and the branch vajra recitation. The root vajra recitation is: Regarding the vajra word "at the tip of the nose," there are two explanations, direct and definitive. The direct explanation is that in the generation stage, the practice of subtle yoga relying on the lower gate is shown through the following key: The tip of the nose is the pistil of the vajra or lotus, and there one should contemplate and meditate on the white mustard seed, which is the bindu of bodhicitta. Here, the sound of the white mustard seed represents the bindu, as also stated in the subsequent tantras: The breath is like the wind of the five wisdoms, The very essence of the five elements, Having drawn it out from the tip of the lotus nose, One should contemplate it as the form of a bindu. The five colors of precious jewels, Are said to be life and effort. Thus it is said. How to meditate? One should know that in the center of the white mustard seed, that is, the bindu, what moves is the essence, and what does not move is the appearance of the container world, which are arising. As it is said, it is the seed of nectar, from which the three realms of beings arise. It is also said that all that moves and does not move should be visualized as the nature of Vajrasattva.
