The accomplished one transcends "non-existence," and because neither "existence" nor "non-existence" is established, it transcends both, abiding in a way that is without abiding, or it is called the abode. This shows both luminosity and union, therefore it is ultimate. The hidden meaning and the summarized meaning of the ultimate explanation is this: the three solitudes together with illusion are absorbed into luminosity, thereby establishing the union enjoyment body, and transforming it into the emanation body, which shows the first union of the completion stage. Second, regarding the perfect retinue, it is explained in two ways: interpretable and definitive. First, the summarized meaning. In the interpretable meaning, it is explained that, as previously stated, the retinue with whom one hears—bodhisattvas—and the perfect retinue of the Tathagata are shown. According to the subsequent realization, in the dharma arising of the Mother Tantra, the deities of the mandala generated by the three rituals are manifested outwardly by the utterance mantra of the interpretable meaning, performing common and special actions, and then withdrawn and placed in their respective positions, which shows the supreme king of the generation stage mandala. In the definitive meaning, it is explained that, in the dharma arising of the wisdom mudra, the deities of the mandala generated in an instant are manifested outwardly by the utterance mantra of the definitive meaning, performing common and special actions, and then placed in their respective positions, which shows the supreme king of the union mandala. Although there is no difference in the number of deities and the form of the bodies in both the interpretable and definitive meanings, the interpretable meaning is the contemplation of the deity wheel of the conceptual generation stage, while the definitive meaning is the self-nature union body in which the aggregates and so forth are completely purified, and from the very appearance of pure wisdom, the appearance of the non-different retinue arises. Alternatively, from the perspective of explaining the teacher and retinue as different, it is the interpretable meaning, while from the perspective of explaining them as non-different, it is the definitive meaning. Second, regarding the meaning of the branches, first explaining the interpretable meaning: Thus I have heard, at one time, with which companion did you hear? It is connected as hearing together with the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Among them, the Bodhisattva is: those who seek enlightenment through the path of detachment, and from that, the aspect to be distinguished

Therefore, they are called great Bodhisattvas. Great Bodhisattvas are those who, through knowing their own nature, enjoy the five objects of desire and thereby attain the Mahamudra in this very life. How many Bodhisattvas are there? They are countless, and their forms and qualities, etc., are beyond the realm of words, so they cannot be expressed. They are equal to the number of dust particles in immeasurable Buddha-fields. Among these Bodhisattvas, in order to show those who are the lords of the retinue that can make the wheel of the gods perfectly complete, it is said, "For example, Samaya Vajra," and so on. The meaning of these words is easy to understand in the commentary. The second is the explanation in terms of the definitive meaning. One might wonder whether the perfect retinue mentioned above is different from the main deity and is an independent entity. It is not. Because the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Buddha-fields are all parts of the limbs of the Great Vajradhara. As it is said, "In short, the five skandhas are well known as the five Buddhas, and the Vajra source itself is the supreme mandala of the Bodhisattvas." So, what is the need to emanate a part of one's own body as the deities in the mandala? The Great Vajradhara emanates the various parts of his own body as the supporting and supported mandala in order to please those beings who can be tamed by the wheel of the mandala. Thus, after a brief indication with a perfect introduction, the rest of the text will explain this in detail, divided into two parts: explaining the mandala of the dharanis and explaining the mandala of the assembled Akshobhya. The first part is divided into two aspects: the meaning of the gathering and the meaning of the limbs. Regarding the meaning of the gathering: As mentioned before, the perfect teacher, endowed with the eight powers of qualities, in order to show those beings who are attached to the objects of the desire realm the method of liberation through the five objects of desire, entered into the samadhi called the aspect of great desire, and then gathered those perfect retinues into his own heart, emanated as nine dharani goddesses, and enjoyed the five objects of desire together with them.
