Furthermore, this instruction exists only in the oral tradition passed down from the noble Nagarjuna, and there isn't even a mention of it in other tantras and instructions. Although it is the unique instruction of the Guhyasamaja practitioners, it is a great mistake to misunderstand its essential points and to consider the illusory body here and the withdrawal-stage meditation described in the Kalachakra as having the same meaning. The cause for accomplishing the illusory body is the co-emergent condition of the mind being merely blissful and clear, and the gathering of the five winds. In the 'Sequence of Illusions,' it says: 'That is perfectly united with the wind, the three consciousnesses are also with the wind, the body of the yogi transforms, that is called the illusory body.' Also, in the 'Vajra Garland,' it says: 'The realm of the path of words, is the very nature of the wisdom body of the chief, for the benefit of all sentient beings, it appears like a rainbow.' So it is said. The metaphors that represent the illusory body are generally twelve, but among them, there are three main metaphors: the metaphor for the instantaneous completion of limbs and parts is the reflection in a mirror; the metaphor for pervading all objects of experience is the moon in water; the metaphor for the appearance of yellow color due to the differentiation of activities such as pacifying is the rainbow in the sky. As it is said, in the 'Sequence of Illusions,' it says: 'By the reflection in a mirror, one should know that illusory body, the color is like a rainbow in the sky, the pervasiveness is like the moon in water.' So it is said. The method of training in the illusory body is: first, meditate on the four immeasurables, then visualize oneself as the great Vajradhara, the sambhogakaya, white in color, adorned with marks and signs, arising from mere wind and mind, experiencing bliss and clarity, appearing as a deity, appearing like a reflection in a mirror but without inherent existence, focusing the mind one-pointedly on this, and meditating on it again and again, which should be learned from the oral instructions. The measure of the completion of the illusory body is: even when not in meditative equipoise, one clearly sees the form of the great Vajradhara as one has meditated, attachment to objects diminishes, gods, nagas, yakshas, etc., make offerings, food and other things are obtained without effort, and in dreams, signs appear as if knowing the result from the cause.

end. The benefit is: From the cause of conventional truth, the result of clear light arises, and one obtains the pure illusory body adorned with all the qualities of the Buddhas, the state of the Great Vajradhara. As it is also said in the stages of illusion: Through the stages of my blessing, one will attain the very nature of clear light. And it is said: The person who receives my blessing, is the very master of all Buddhas. They will attain it in this very life. The definition is: Such a stage of my blessing, if not destroyed by the two dhyanas, the clear light will not manifest. Because it obscures the ultimate meaning and appears to the senses, it is called the conventional truth. Summarizing and showing the meaning of what was said earlier: The shown conventional truth, is the pleasing third stage. That is to say, if the illusory body is not destroyed by the two dhyanas, the clear light will not manifest. Therefore, it obscures the view of the ultimate meaning, so it is conventional; it merely appears to the eye, so it is truth; like a rainbow in the sky, it is adorned with five lights, so it is pleasing. Such a conventional illusory samadhi is shown and practiced after the object of mind in the second stage, so it is called the third stage, like the third rung of a ladder. After such a conventional truth is perfected, one should learn the ultimate truth. Therefore, the ultimate truth will be explained, which has ten points: the individual who is the basis, the order of being a vessel, the object of knowledge, the opposing factors to be abandoned, the characteristics of the order of manifest enlightenment, the order of learning in this, the empowerment of representative wisdom, the measure and benefit of perfected meditation, the synonyms of names, and the definition. The individual who is the basis for entering the ultimate truth is: one who has perfected the conventional truth and has the desire for the clear light samadhi in which everything is empty. The order of being a vessel is: after making the Vajra Master completely pleased, after making great offerings in the assembly mandala, the empowerment of wisdom is bestowed with the common nine empowerments and the secret empowerment preceding it.
