He obtained fearless courage in the front seat. Thus he spoke. This great being, from the beginning, had a single devotion to the omniscient Buton Rinchen, but due to the power of his teacher, companions, etc., he became very familiar with the tenets of the omniscient one. He became a support for the Jonangpa school. He thought to rely on the Tantra Kalachakra, the Sutra Great Nirvana, Gongpa Ngendrel, the Lankavatara Sutra, the treatise Ratnagotravibhāga, the Dharmadhātustava, etc. Therefore, in order to take the meaning of these Sutras, Tantras, and treatises without reversing them, and to establish the Jonangpa tenets, he went to Manmun Drak. He made three observations on these Sutras, Tantras, and treatises. The first time, he thought that the Jonangpa tenets must be the meaning of these Sutras, Tantras, and treatises. The second time, he had a doubt whether it was so or not. The third time, he said that he had an understanding that was the opposite of the meaning. After that, he went to the presence of Khenchen Sangye Pel at the monastery, thinking that the Jonangpa tenets were the meaning of these Sutras, Tantras, and treatises. After careful observation and research, he said that it had become something outside of the meaning. The Khenchen said, "You are very clever, it is very true," and praised him. At that time, he wrote a letter to that teacher, and the Khenchen was very unhappy and harbored resentment. After that, the great being thought that Khenchen Nyawonpa was very intelligent, and with the power of being very skilled in the reasoning of valid cognition, if he were to debate with him on the basis of scripture and reason, he would surely change. He thought that if he changed, he would change from Chuwo Kha, and all the Jonangpas of today would change. So, with great compassion, he went to the presence of Nyawonpa, but because of what had happened before, although he did not directly blame him, he showed an expression of displeasure. Thinking that even if he spoke now, it would not change anything, he returned to the monastery. He wrote the letter "Garland of Jewels" to all the upholders of the doctrine. Therefore, those who claimed to be Kalachakra in the land of snow, and especially the Jonangpas and their followers, although they could not directly argue, secretly caused great turmoil. At that time

In the presence of the assembled holders of the great monastic seats, headed by Trung Zhi Thogpa, the Great Self-Master stated that the Wheel of Time (Kalachakra) had contradictions. Karma Pakshi Könchok Khyenno stated that there were no contradictions, and during the debate, Karma Pakshi said: 'The knowable is the subject; the White Lotus is foolish because the foolish one desires self-enjoyment, since this is the infallible speech of the Lord of the Ten Bhumis.' This was clearly and universally acknowledged. The reason is established because it is the language of the self-nature of the commentary 'Stainless Light'. To this, the Great Self-Master said: 'The knowable is the subject; in the debate about whether sound is permanent or impermanent, it becomes the proof that sound is impermanent. In the debate about whether the commentary 'Stainless Light' is the speech of the Lord of the Ten Bhumis, the language of the self-nature of the commentary 'Stainless Light' is the proof that the commentary itself is the speech of the Lord of the Ten Bhumis.' Thus, he refuted them. Furthermore, he said that the disputes recorded by Lama Shar Chungpa and others did not arise from the equality of the proof and what is to be proven. One of the Ngakpas from the Jonangpa side said, 'You are a great scholar, it is not appropriate to refute the Kalachakra.' In response, he said: 'In the words of the Sugata, the wise engage in refutation and proof. For people who are like blind ones, what use is external adornment?' At that time, Khenchen Tendzin Gyaltsen was the leader. The Jonangpas discussed and composed many arguments, saying, 'If he says this, we will say that.' They said to Jamyang Chenpo, 'Invite this student, Zhonnu Lodro; it is a debate about the correct and incorrect meaning of the Tathagatagarbha.' When the Great Self-Master and his disciples were invited from Sakya and debated, the Great Self-Master said, 'If you are going to debate, do it either based on the Tantras, or based on the Sutras, or based solely on the Treatises. Do not engage in debates that please fools.' Jamyangpa also agreed with this. All the arguments they had secretly planned were destroyed, and they acknowledged that there was no difference between the Suchness with defilements and the Suchness without defilements, and that the Tathagatagarbha, adorned with non-compounded qualities such as powers, was established in the ultimate truth. The Great Self-Master said: ཤ
