Hold it in your mind. Even if reborn as gods or humans after death, Think of the suffering of impermanent and changing happiness. Except for the fruit of unsurpassed enlightenment, Do not desire any happiness in samsara. This is how to reverse attachment to samsara. For example, all the former Kadampa masters, For that reason, they were afraid of death and did not light a fire. The reason for this is to encourage diligence in Dharma. Although it is always impermanent and dies quickly, There are still a few years (224) to practice enlightenment, For the sake of going to the Pure Land of Great Bliss in the next life, Practicing longevity does not change the fact that it is not renunciation. For example, Dagpo practiced Tara. Then, the hometown is the root of attachment, Attachment arises to relatives, and hatred arises to enemies. Therefore, Phagmo Drupa, Jetsun Rinpoche, etc., They abandoned their hometowns and did not go there. However, in a foreign land after abandoning the hometown, If attachment and hatred increase, then that is the hometown. Even if it is a hometown, if there is not much attachment and hatred, Even if you don't abandon it, it won't change that it's not renunciation. For example, Mar, Dag, Sakya, Drikung, Taglung, etc. The name of the place is like the name of the lama. It doesn't matter whether you live in your hometown or in a foreign land. Avoid being too friendly or too hostile to anyone. Relatives and friends are the ropes of samsara, No matter how much you give, you can't satisfy them, and there are many complaints. If you look closely, the six realms are parents. Therefore, you should abandon too much attachment to relatives. Hating relatives is not renunciation (225), If you enter the Dharma, you can use skillful means to guide relatives. This benefits both the Dharma and relatives. For example, the bloodlines of Drikung, Taglung, and Sakya. If you have kindness, your children and grandchildren will be kind. The Tibetan people do not know who owes kindness to whom. So said Guru Padmasambhava's words of advice. Wealth is the bait of enemies, the source of suffering, If you don't have it, you're helpless, if you have it, it's like a demon's net. No matter how much you have, you are not satisfied and still want more. Therefore, abandon the attachment to food and wealth. Even if you are poor, do not accumulate wealth through sin. Even if you die of hunger, abandon taking what is not given. For example, Milarepa practiced Zala asceticism, Practice taking the essence of water, stones, soil, etc. This is the abandonment of the extreme of desire, For the sake of food, abandon unwholesome actions. If it arises naturally, it is okay to abandon it, Those who have food yoga, use whatever comes their way. Wine and sacrificial meat should be abandoned like poison.

After monks and novices request, punishment should be given (226). It is best if one can always stay on one seat. To commit sins for the sake of delicious food, and to have everything one wants but not eat, these two ascetic practices are said by the Able One (Shakyamuni Buddha) to be wrong paths. Therefore, avoid overeating and over-starving. The Buddha taught that people should eat moderately. From the perspective of food, the most necessary thing is clothing. Do not commit evil deeds or accumulate wealth for the sake of clothing, it is enough to have old clothes to cover the body. Therefore, when the Teacher (Shakyamuni Buddha) renounced the world, he abandoned clothes worth hundreds of gold coins and chose worn-out robes. If obtained naturally, do not deliberately abandon them. Even if you get clothes worth hundreds of gold coins, monks are allowed to wear them. However, only red, yellow, and maroon colors can be worn, and blue, green, white, and other colors should be avoided. No matter how much you want to renounce from the bottom of your heart, you cannot abandon the three Dharma robes and the alms bowl. The kasaya (227) should be sewn and meet the size standards before it can be abandoned. Even if you get a staff, bell, water filter, and cushion, you should be prohibited from using them. Even if you get these things, do not carry them, and do not do arrogant things, etc. Doing things that violate the precepts, as prophesied in the sutras where the Buddha is now manifestly abiding, and in the *Dhṛtarāṣṭra Sūtra*, is prohibited by the protectors and their sons. It is common to say that it is difficult to give up after having enough food and clothing. Hearing praise, arrogance and pride will rise. Arrogance is an obstacle to liberation. Praising someone who is not worthy of praise will create sin. At the time of death, fame will not follow. Therefore, even if you are praised, you should abandon joy. Hearing bad words will cause anger to arise. At that time, if you observe its essence, you will find it meaningless. If you are slandered for no reason, you can eliminate karma. Therefore, even if you are slandered, you should practice joy. Do not recite orally, but transform it into contemplation. If there is slander that harms the Dharma or one's own lineage (228), it should be refuted. Next, I will talk about going to holy places for practice. First, blessed by the heroes and dakinis, in the middle, trodden by the feet of Guru Orgyen (Padmasambhava), and later, recognized by the great siddhas, belonging to the branch holy places of Tsari, one hundred and eight great holy places and one thousand and two small holy places. Practicing in these places for one day is better than practicing elsewhere for a year.
