The ground behind the threshold should be high, and it is good if it seems to slope inward. If the threshold inside is low, being large downwards is harmful to life. If many miscellaneous items are piled up on the left, right, and top of the door, it is said that most are the dwellings of evil spirits. Even after making good birds and dogs, if bows (219) etc. are placed on top, it is where fierce war gods reside. Those are the homes of worldly people. Then there are the places of solitary retreats and meditation rooms. Do not insert wooden wedges into the empty space above the threshold. Place the stove in the southeast, the place of the fire god. Make a protector deity hall in the southwest, the place of the rakshasa. The place where the nagas reside in the west, make it a place to tether horses, cattle, and livestock. In the northwest, the place where the wind god resides, set up windmills and hang clothes to dry. In the north, the place where the yakshas reside, place storage for tea, butter, grain, etc. In the northeast, the place where the lord of power resides, make a bedroom and bed. Do not place a pillow in the direction of the valley mouth. It is acceptable if the guru resides in that direction, or if the three supports are in front. Do not use shoes or wooden bowls as pillows. Do not let a beam cut across the middle of the bed. Generally speaking, the size of a solitary retreat house is said to be a square cubit in circumference. The height of the walls is the height of the Sugata, twelve (hands), which is six and a half (hands). Two walls are seven (220) (hands) each, and the height of the Buddha statue is one and a half (Tibetan) cubits of a standard person. It is called a house of renunciation. After that house is built, first make offerings, arrange the statue of Shakyamuni, and perform auspicious connections. The fifth chapter is about houses. Then, regarding the earth examination of Chöd: On white rocks and white clay mountains, the pure deity lineage resides in the white direction. If there are rock mountains in the shape of statues and stupas, or in the shape of Shiva lingams, it is a sign that there is a sacred mountain there. Wisdom heroes and dakinis reside there. It is not permissible to cut off the fierce places. Many forest mountains and land depressions are connected. Or dry mountains without water. Even if you cut off the fierce places, you cannot sever them. The tip of a mountain, the tip of a river, the tip of a valley. In places where many converge. It is difficult to cut off the fierce places even if you cut them off, because there are many local deities gathered together. Even if you cut off each one, you cannot cut off all of them. Red rocks are for the btsan spirits, and black rocks are for the demons. Cliffs and mountains have lakes, springs, and nagas. Most grassland mountains are of the fierce (221) kind. Solitary rock mountains are theurang spirits. Rocks and mountains are the same: happiness is in the back, bowing is in the front. Male mountains have pointed tops.

劝请故,由Ra ga A sya所著。

Om Mo Ri Tra. Mountain is the body, lake is the heart. Spring is the lifeline, tree is the hair. The elephant's crown is the heart of man. On the back of horses and livestock. Extending outwards, the land is fertile. There is the dwelling place of Chod. That is called the Eye of the Malignant Star. A nose like a pig and a tongue like a snake. Fangs and claws like a beast of prey. The tip of the horn like a horned one. The tip of the trunk and tongue like an elephant. The nose of the mountain and the corner of the rock. That is called the Eye of the Khram, the end of the great demon of the sick. If the healthy live there, illness will arise. Camps and barracks, and so on. There is no enemy of the land, and the land is fertile. Living there is immediately comfortable. The door of the tent and hut also faces the water vein or fertile place. If there is an enemy of the land. Place scriptures and the three supports in that direction. The sixth chapter of Chod's geomancy. (222) This sixth chapter of geomancy. The Indian method and the Chinese method. From the ocean of many scriptures and milk. The essence of condensed butter is extracted. Lama Tsenu Gyatso. Urged, by Ra ga A sya. In the Wood Snake year (uncertain), in the lunar month of Minsuk. In the evening, between each session. Whatever is remembered is immediately spoken. Karma Virya himself wrote it. Completed on the fifteenth of the waning moon, if there are contradictions and errors in this. I confess to those with wise eyes. Whatever merit there is in writing this. Whatever connection there is to this. May the patrons and others rejoice. May the benefactor have good fortune and well-being. The fifteenth chapter is auspiciously completed. Ma. From the oral instructions of the mountain Dharma retreat. The Dharma called "White Path to Liberation, Oral Instructions of Retreat" is present.།། Namo Guru Maha Mudraye. Homage to the Kagyu Rinpoche. The Kagyu biography of the mountain retreat practice is. Although it appears in the mind, it has not been practiced. (223) Although I know how to speak truthfully, I dare not speak. Only with the experience of my own practice. Perhaps it can benefit those who are as unfortunate as I am. Therefore, I immediately record what comes to mind. Because renunciation is the foundation of practice. All the affairs of this life in the world. It's like lying in front of a Brahmin. Renouncing from the depths of one's heart is very important. Although immediate food, clothing, and shelter are important. It's like the thought of a guest staying only one night. Not living long will lead to death.
