The clinging of thinking is a place of error. By looking at the essence of bliss, clinging ceases. Bliss and emptiness inseparable is the actual Great Seal. The seventeen realms of the form realm are places of error. The two wisdoms of the clear light Great Seal, are not different, yet there is a hair's breadth of difference. Clear and empty, naked, with a definite understanding. Thinking there is nothing better than this, with arrogance. Also, due to the difference in the size of arrogance, those of the Brahma caste, those in front of Brahma, etc., err in the abodes of the four dhyanas. The so-called "error" is the name of being born there. Sometimes, even if born there, it is not an error. If one clings to that as supreme, one will be there after death. Though clear experiences and apparent direct perceptions may arise, one should not cling with arrogance, nor be self-righteous. By looking at the essence of clarity, emptiness arises. The union of clarity and emptiness is the actual Great Seal. At this time, at the boundary between sleep and non-sleep, a light like a crystal egg, a moon dot, or a candle flame, arises in front of the eyes (page 180). Conditioned by this, the state of abiding on the surface of the mind, without being obscured by earth, stones, mountains, or rocks, one can see what distant people are doing and hear what they are saying, like direct perception. Such things do not happen often, but occasionally. If one boasts of having direct perception and becomes arrogant, it is an obstacle, cutting off the progress of realization. This is called the clear light of experience. Similarly, when one is lying down, aware of being asleep and having seized the clear light of sleep, even though it is a dark hole, one's own home is as clear as day. What others are thinking in their minds, appears clearly as if they themselves had spoken it. These are called the clear light of experience. If one thinks one has direct perception and speaks of it, if arrogance arises, the obstacle of demons enters. An example of whatever arises in the experience of a yogi: one should not be arrogant, one should not be distracted, but let it be. Then there will be no obstacles, and one will go on the path. All phenomena (page 181) are gathered into one's own mind, like salt dissolving in water. The nature of mind is primordially pure Dharmakaya. However, if one clings to thinking it is so, that is the view of Mind-Only, not the Great Seal. Mind is like the sky, without limit. Bound by the clinging of thought, one is born in the formless realm of infinite consciousness. Wherever the sky pervades, the mind pervades, and the sky

The realm of consciousness is immeasurable and beyond thought. Bound by the subtle clinging of thought, one is born in the boundless, formless realm of space. All phenomena are primordially unestablished, their nature is emptiness. Although there is nothing to fixate on, the clinging of thinking "it is like that" is a wrong path to the sphere of nothingness. Outer and inner worlds, including one's own mind, are ultimately empty, devoid of inherent existence. Conventionally, anything can arise, anything is possible. (182) Therefore, by thinking neither existence nor non-existence, subtle clinging gives rise to neither existence nor non-existence. Thus, there are four types of emptiness experiences, which are considered the supreme realization by non-Buddhists. If one dies clinging to this supreme view, it is said that one will be born in the four realms of formlessness. For eighty thousand eons, one does not take a body, and there is no experience of pleasure or pain. Without engaging in clinging, one sees the self-nature of emptiness. Emptiness and non-emptiness are beyond speech, thought, and expression. This is the actual Great Seal of emptiness itself. These experiences and realizations vary in duration, intensity, and in various other ways. In any case, do not be distracted, remain relaxed and natural. Like a lamp flame undisturbed by the wind. Because of dwelling single-pointedly, it is called single-pointedness. Among these, there are those who experience it occasionally, mostly, and those who never separate from it except during sleep. Single-pointedness is categorized into small, medium, and large. Below these, no matter how similar they may seem, (183) the essence of realization is not seen, only the movement of experience. This also depends on the individual's faculties. The experience and realization that are difficult to arise and arise gradually are of the lineage of gradual arising, and whatever arises is stable. Initially, experience and realization arise easily and quickly, but what arises is unstable, with great variations in highs and lows. This is the lineage of direct transcendence. From the very beginning, a profound realization arises, and its potential is perfected with a short period of meditation. This is the lineage of sudden entry, which is rare. For those in whom realization is difficult to arise and arises gradually, and in whom there are many variations in highs and lows, this is the direct transcendence within the gradual path, such as Raga Asya and others like me. For those in whom realization arises somewhat slowly, and who, according to the preliminary practices and the stages of guidance, practice in accordance with those stages, and in whom a good realization arises, this is the sudden entry within the gradual path. Likewise, the direct transcendence and the sudden entry.
