Thereafter, one will not take birth in this samsara, Nor will one take birth in pure lands, But will abide in the state of emptiness and peace, In that state, it is the nature of bliss, free from suffering. According to the Hinayana tradition, after that, Like a fire with exhausted fuel, never again, Will one take a body, abiding in the peace of emptiness. According to the Mahayana tradition, for eighty thousand kalpas, One will abide thus, and after eighty thousand kalpas, Memory will be regained by the touch of the Buddha's rays. Then, the Buddha will show his form, with the voice of speech, Saying, "This of yours is not the ultimate fruit, (66) Enter the path of perfect enlightenment." Thereafter, having generated the supreme bodhicitta, One must again accomplish perfect enlightenment, Thus, for eighty thousand kalpas, the benefit of beings is interrupted. Therefore, the Mahayana Bodhisattva tradition, Is considered a greater fault than being born in hell for a while, If one goes astray on the path of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers. This small tune indicating the wrong path of the Hinayana, Was spoken immediately by Rāga Asya. Homage to the Guru, Great Compassionate One). Karma Tsondu Gyatso, listen well. The so-called Vehicle of Cause, called the tradition of characteristics, Is the practice response of the Mahayana Bodhisattva: Having taken the Bodhisattva vows, The best, thinks of placing all beings in the state of Buddhahood, The middling, desires to become Buddhas together with oneself and others, The lowest, desires to attain Buddhahood oneself, And then benefit beings as long as samsara exists. If one does not benefit all beings, There is no way to attain perfect enlightenment (67), Therefore, understand that benefiting others is the supreme benefit for oneself. For countless hundreds of thousands of billions of kalpas, If one takes inconceivable, unspeakable bodies, One will not succeed by only practicing for oneself, and will wander in samsara. From now on, if for countless three kalpas, One practices benefiting others, it is said that one will attain Buddhahood. Thinking about the meaning of wandering in endless samsara, That is not long, but short. Even the Bhagavan Shakyamuni, etc., Is said to have been born as lice, fleas, etc., I have now obtained this leisure and fortune of a human body, If I practice perfect enlightenment, why would I not succeed? Thinking thus, one should generate great mental strength. In order to purify all subtle faults and transgressions, And to increase and expand the vows, One should repeatedly take the Bodhisattva vows oneself. For example, gol

A silver vessel is like pottery; it is easy to repair, and damage is quickly restored. The main practice is like the blessing of the earth; invite the Able One, offer praise, and present the mandala. The main commitment is done with the seven-limb practice; when anger arises, subdue it with love. All sentient beings are relatives from many lifetimes; even if they don't know and act as enemies to me, how can I knowingly retaliate? Just as a son cannot bear a mad, old mother, generate compassion for her and strive to do what benefits her. When desire arises, subdue it by contemplating ugliness. Corpses rotting with worms, and skeletons, contemplate them in front, and desire will naturally subside. When the darkness of delusion thickens, it is dispelled by contemplating dependent origination. As before, under the power of ignorance, actions, etc., count in mind the arising and ceasing of dependent origination. In particular, the twelve deeds of the Able One, recite them in speech and contemplate their meaning in mind. Then meditate on the meaning of calm abiding and insight. Clearly visualize the Lord of the Able One in front. (69) On each of his marks and signs, fix the mind and let awareness abide as it is. If there is sinking and dullness, then on the white hair between the eyebrows, if there is excessive excitement, then on the intersection of the crossed legs. If there is no sinking or excitement, then on the glorious knot at the heart. If the mind stays fixed on what is fixated and does not wander for a long time, this is the accomplishment of common calm abiding. Its benefits are immeasurable, as extensively explained in the Sutra of the Buddha Presently Abiding in Manifestation and the King of Samadhi Sutra. In short, when one's awareness stays fixed on what is fixated, not wandering for a long time, abiding as desired, when thoughts are pacified and abiding, that is calm abiding, along with common contaminated clairvoyance, signs of accomplishment, etc. The way they arise from it is explained in hundreds of thousands of texts. Then, what is to be meditated on is common insight. Common insight is discriminating wisdom. Examining the flesh, bones, skin, and internal organs of this body of mine, (70) no self is found in any of them. Since the mind has no substance, no self is found. In the state of unestablished emptiness, rest naturally. This is the way to meditate on the selflessness of persons. External objects, for example, a pillar. When examining it by individually separating it with wisdom, the top, bottom, waist, four sides, four corners, and center of the pillar, all nine of them, upon examining each one, none of them is the pillar. The pillar is not established as true, it is just a name.
