If there is a strong connection with Buddha statues and stupas, one will attain Arhatship during the first assembly. If there is a strong connection with writing and reciting scriptures, one will attain Arhatship during the second assembly. If there is a strong connection with honoring the Sangha, etc., one will attain Arhatship during the third assembly. For the earlier and earlier Buddha's teachings, whatever connections were established with the Three Jewels, will be liberated in the later and later Buddha's teachings. This reason is explained in the Maitreya Prophecy Sutra. In particular, the incarnation of Maitreya (61), the Red Hat Lama, is also said to be the incarnation of Situ Rinpoche. The sixth incarnation of the Lion, Karmapa, giving names and tonsures to these individuals, and requesting novice and fully ordained monks, etc., it is said that if one can see the face of Maitreya or the sixth Lion, one will definitely attain Arhatship. The practice of individual liberation of the Hearers, Raga Asya spoke in the form of a song. ༈ །།Namo Guru Simhanadaya. Sanskrit Roman transliteration: namo guru siṃhanādāya, literal Chinese meaning: Homage to the Guru Lion's Roar). Listen, Lama Tsondu Gyatso. Because you are afraid of samsara, protect your vows purely, abandon the ten non-virtues, and practice the ten virtues. The way to practice is the same as above, for the root of samsara in samsara - ignorance, from which arises action, from which arises consciousness, from which arises name and form, from which arises the six senses, from which arises contact, from which arises feeling, from which arises craving, from which arises grasping, from which arises becoming, from which arises birth, from which arises old age, death, sorrow, suffering (62), etc. This is dependent origination, called the wheel of existence. If ignorance ceases, then all of these will cease in sequence, this is the wheel of liberation, the noble path. The root of everything - ignorance, is the fault of one's own mind not recognizing itself. When one's own mind observes itself, there is no object. This is the same as the previously mentioned selflessness of the person. External appearances, various white, red, and other colors, are confused by the mind's separate grasping. The mind is originally empty in nature. By abiding in the state of emptiness, from the basis of realizing the selflessness of the person, one can realize half of the selflessness of phenomena. Now, one will no longer take a body in this samsara. Without relying on lamas, khenpos, or other people, being able to be independent and attain Buddhahood oneself, by making such aspirations and prayers, one will achieve self-enlightenment in twenty kalpas, like a rhinoceros, it takes a hundred kalpas to achieve. Even when the previous teachings have declined, and when the teachings of the future Buddha (63) have not yet arisen, one is born as a human in a land without the sound of Dharma. One ordains oneself, practices in solitude, and becomes enlightened on one's own. One does not utter even a single word of Dharma. When patrons invite one for a meal, one displays various miracles in the sky, such as a phurba. At that time, the patron prostrates and says, "May I become like you." There is no other benefit to beings than that. Like that, five hundred thousand and so on, appearing at the same time and dwelling in the same place, are called Pratyekabuddhas who practice in groups. One who is alone and dwells alone, like a rhinoceros, is called a solitary Buddha. It is said that eighty thousand Pratyekabuddhas will appear between the decline of Shakyamuni's teachings and the coming of Maitreya. This short song on the practice of the Pratyekabuddha was spoken immediately by Raga Asya. Listen (64) and Lama Tsondu Gyatso, keep in mind the differences between the Great and Small Vehicles. The Small Vehicle has two types: Hearers and Solitary Realizers. With little compassion, they have no thought of benefiting others. With little wisdom, they do not fully realize emptiness. Therefore, it is called the Small Vehicle. The word "Vehicle" means to carry, and Bodhisattvas carry the suffering of giving up their bodies and lives hundreds of thousands of times for the sake of other beings. The Hearers and Solitary Realizers do not carry it in that way. The pervasive suffering of conditioned existence means that as long as this body of flesh and blood exists, there is some suffering, but they do not carry it for long and pass into Nirvana. What is meant by Hearer and Solitary Realizer Arhats? Enemies are the five poisons and three poisons of defilements. Since they are completely conquered, they cannot arise in the mind. If the desire to look is abandoned, one knows the events of hundreds of thousands of kalpas in the past and future through clairvoyance. Even if there is accomplishment without looking, one does not know. Miracles are unimpeded by whatever one thinks in one's mind (65). At the time of death, the body rises into the expanse of the sky. Thunder roars, lightning flashes, and the earth also shakes completely. The upper part of the body burns with fire, and the lower part pours down a stream of water. The lower part of the body burns with fire, and the upper part pours down a stream of water. From his heart, the fire of wisdom blazes, and after burning the body, relics rain down. Objects of faith, robes, and begging bowls fall to the ground. That
