Whereabouts? Even if there are hiding places, they conceal their eyes and bodies and dwell there. Actions like those of a madman also occur coincidentally and similarly. Even if relatives or important people call out, they do not show respect and act like madmen. Actions like those of dogs and pigs also occur coincidentally and similarly. They do not perceive urine, droplets, etc., as impure, and perform bathing and drinking when necessary. Actions like birds building nests also occur along with that. Empowerments, transmissions, instructions, and stages of guidance, etc., have been thoroughly investigated from the beginning. (574) At that time, there is no doubt or hesitation, and one engages in the practice itself. In general, these actions have many different names but the same meaning. Although there are many different ways of explaining them, the conduct of Samantabhadra and celibacy have the same meaning. Most of the Dagpo Kagyu lineage travels all the bhumis and paths solely through such conduct. What is that conduct? The postures and actions of the body are maintained authentically according to the monastic rules. That should be done moderately, neither too tight nor too loose. The Venerable Dharma Lord said, for example, like a tigress carrying her cub, if she holds it too tightly, her teeth will kill the cub, and if she holds it too loosely, the cub will fall to the ground. Just as she carries it with moderate tightness and looseness, being slightly late for the midday meal and being afraid of taking water for urination, etc., as if fearing for one's life, is being bound by understanding tightness. Eating and drinking immoderately at noon, separating from water and urine for many years, and even abandoning robes and begging bowls, are faults of being too lax, which are difficult to distinguish from those who are not familiar with the reasons for monks (575) and novices, etc. It is best to stay alone in one seat regularly, or else the tsokhor itself. It is not good to think otherwise. Do not eat meat that is not tsok meat. Absolutely avoid consecrated meat. Avoid alcohol like poison. Because tsok alcohol does not contradict the vows, pour it with a spoon or take it with your fingertips. Even if it is a lot, whatever the medium amount of Bhanda is, it is not permissible to have more than that. This is clearly stated in the Hevajra Small Samvara Tantra. During the practice of root-wind trulkhor, etc., it is permissible to eat tsok meat to warm the body, in order to increase the elements and bindu. However, if it is consecrated meat, avoid it. Even if it is consecrated meat, it is tsok.

Śāla. If you dedicate, you will benefit the livestock there. It is clearly stated in the teachings of the Rainbow Essence. All the subtle precepts should be protected as much as possible. If you cannot or do not know, and commit transgressions and misdeeds, etc., during the Uposatha on the first and fifteenth of each month (576), because there is no Sangha, you cannot perform the actual Uposatha, but you can bless the Uposatha, or perform the Śamatha Uposatha. Unless there is a special situation, the midday meal should also be eaten in the bowl. The first offering, wine, etc., should also be remembered regularly according to the ritual. In order to generate cautious awareness, carry the three Dharma robes and water strainer. At auspicious times, take the Bodhisattva vows. Whatever work and activities you do, be careful to motivate with good intention. For the benefit of all sentient beings, do not have any other purpose than to achieve unsurpassed Bodhi. The practice of the union of the generation stage and the completion stage mainly lies in protecting the nature. The Victorious Dharma Lord said: Outwardly, a monk of individual liberation, inwardly, a Bodhisattva, secretly, a Tantric yogi, the Vajra Holder who is complete with the three, thinking of him brings joy and happiness. His words also mean this. (577) Such behavior, whether in retreat, or in villages and monasteries, should be carried out to the end without any slackening. This is not a very difficult thing. If it is difficult and cannot be completed, then the initial commitment will also become a cause of decline. If you think that you cannot even do that little bit, laziness will also become a cause of decline. Other behaviors besides these, if the time is right, will have great benefits, but if they are not suitable, they will become great obstacles. Even if you do not do other behaviors, just the Samantabhadra practice will allow you to traverse all the paths and grounds. The footsteps of the eight great disciples of Dagpo, or rather, benefiting the Buddha's teachings, and reaching the top of the Dharma yourself, whatever qualities you have, will generate great benefits, and will also lead the patrons to generate faith. Always do such behavior. The first, fifteenth, retreat, eighth, twenty-third. It is said that this is the eighth of the waning moon. The tenth, twenty-ninth (578) the second, twenty-eighth. On these days, pay attention to the time offerings. Offer Tormas without attachment, and give generously. If you cannot, on the first and fifteenth.
