Above. Clearly entering, the realm is clear, and the senses are distinct. That is when the thick luminosity is grasped. As such, the unequaled pure Lharje said. Immediately upon falling asleep, when the nature of mind is grasped, from the state of mind, slight movements arise. One also knows that one is sleeping and sees everything inside the house. In the state of non-distraction of the mind, one sees faces, etc. Seeing appearances, hearing sounds, various kinds of images. That is when the thin luminosity is grasped. Even if the nature of mind is not grasped immediately upon falling asleep, rays of light like conch shells emanate from the eyes. Or one sees rays like moonlight or sunlight. Through that cause, the mind is clearly grasped. In that state, with the light as the cause, houses, mountains, and rocks cannot obstruct, one sees distant places and what people are doing. One hears what they are saying, etc., occasionally occurring, that is called the luminosity of experience (525). Thus, practicing based on sleep, that is a great enhancement of non-conceptualization. If luminosity is not grasped in that way, the alaya consciousness wrapped in the heart, led by the winds of karma, travels through the channels. Based on that, various kinds of dreams arise. In the state of not knowing whether it is a dream, when the imprints of the day arise in the generation and completion stages, that is called dream luminosity. First, recognizing that it is a dream, then through meditating on the generation and completion stages, it becomes clearer than daytime. Or, like the transformation of bodies into birds, etc., traveling through buddha-fields, meeting the faces of the Buddhas, listening to the Dharma, etc. Thus, enhancing based on sleep. Hevajra, sleep should not be abandoned, and the senses should not be prohibited. The meaning of what was said also refers to this. That is also when a beginner is practicing, during the day, unpleasant sounds of foxes and crows, (526) flocks of sheep mixed with mothers and children, and noisy sounds, at night, the sound of dogs barking and loud water sounds, are extremely harmful to samadhi. Focusing on one harmful sound, mixing the sound and the nature of mind and observing its essence. Even though the sound is heard in the ear, its essence is empty. Doing that several times and practicing diligently. Then everything heard appears as the essence of practice. When the nature of mind is not distracted and is practiced directly, various kinds of forms, whatever they may be, are seen clearly, but one does not allow grasping of what this is or what that is, one abides in the state of mind.

Like visiting a small child's temple, the mind itself abides in the state of emptiness, free from elaboration. This is the way to maintain the essence of non-elaboration. Even if one realizes that the grasping mind is empty, one has not realized that the essence of what is grasped is empty. Therefore, place an object such as a vajra and bell in front of you. By mixing that with the mind and meditating, it is not that the object disappears, but (527) one realizes that the form and mind are mixed, and the essence is emptiness. Similarly, do this with a rock or other object in front of you. Then, mix all the forms that are seen at once. Then, visualize the four continents, Mount Meru, and the three thousand worlds in your mind, and mix them so that they are indistinguishable and blended. Then, without needing to mix or anything else, all the outer and inner forms of the world, like the planets and stars rising in the ocean, although the appearances are clear, the essence is emptiness. Even without meditating, it arises naturally by itself. Similarly, mix the mind with the sky itself, and by maintaining the essence, the mind and the sky are mixed. Similarly, visualize in your mind where the sky pervades, and by mixing it with the mind, they are indistinguishable and blended into one. This is the sky, and this is the mind. Without any external cause, remain in a single state of practice. First, mix the mind of one Buddha, such as the yidam, without separation (528), and look at the essence. Then, similarly, mix with all the Buddhas. Similarly, mix with one sentient being and all sentient beings. The minds of all the Victorious Ones and the minds of all beings are inseparable from one's own mind, and a great benefit of realization arises. It is not meditation with focus or understanding, but true realization from the depths is the view. However, there are still many times of distraction and forgetfulness. Similarly, because of forgetting death and impermanence, diligence is weakened. Therefore, on the four sides of your own meditation room, write the large letters "Death" and "Do not be distracted" in white earth, ink, or tsampa, whichever is convenient. Wherever you look, you should see it. I have seen this custom in Ü-Tsang (Central Tibet). Similarly, remember death and impermanence, and after remembering death, remember to look at the nature of the mind. At the time when a strong feeling of bliss arises, even if a state of (529) non-distraction arises, it will not last forever, even for a long time, only for months or years. In the actual realization, there are many times of distraction. When you remember, you realize that you have been distracted.
