Without dreaming, When consciousness briefly enters the central channel, If one recognizes the nature of mind and abides in it, That is called grasping the clear light. Before falling asleep, may the nature of mind not be distracted, Even if one cannot distinguish whether one has grasped it or not after falling asleep, When there are no dreams and inner and outer clarity dawns, The nature of mind abides nakedly and openly, When the inner and outer elements are peaceful and awareness awakens, It is said that one has grasped the thick clear light. As soon as one falls asleep, knowing that one is falling asleep, Without dreams, abiding in the nature of mind, It becomes easy to recognize the thin clear light. As soon as one falls asleep, from the front of the eyes, Appearances like hanging a lamp or light may arise, Using that as a condition, abiding in the nature of mind, That is an even weaker clear light than the previous one. After dreaming, influenced by the habits of the day, The nature of mind wanders, appearing like the daytime, Recognizing that a dream is a dream, That is the practice of dream clear light. Besides these, there are intermittent grasps, etc., Various uncertain situations may arise. This is extracting the essence from the door of non-conceptuality, If one is familiar with this, one will grasp the clear light at the time of death, Without traversing the bardo, one will pass through upwards. Then, extracting the essence from the state of clarity, Is the Dharma of Atiyoga, the pinnacle of the nine vehicles, Connected to the victorious ones, the five Buddha families of Gyaltsa, The Dzogchen Tögal instructions, precious practice. The space of five lights, combined with the heart center and the five mothers, The light of the five wisdoms, where all the peaceful deities such as the five wisdoms, Actually reside, Appears to the eyes from the path of the wisdom channel, In the channels, gaze at the rays of the sun like shimmering sparks, Rainbows, bindus, fine dots, strings of pearls, Appear, constantly gazing at the pupils of the eyes, Focusing the mind on the radiance, without distraction, Looking at its essence, which is emptiness itself, The union of clarity and emptiness, seen directly with the eyes. Increasing more and more, it is called the increase of practice. In the bardo, recognizing the three: sound, light, and rays, The Victorious Ones say that one will be reborn in the realm of the rainbow body. Single or multiple forms may appear, If one's reasoning is perfected, one does not need to traverse the bardo. When the outer breath ceases, from the channel of light rays, Consciousness dissolves into Vajrasattva, the Buddha said. Like pretas seeing food as an enemy, Even if one scolds scholars of speculation and terminology, The meaning of the sixty-four hundred thousand tantras, Can be...

The method of attaining Buddhahood through observation. Generate diligence in this pinnacle of the nine vehicles. When practicing this (30), it is extremely important to first receive empowerment related to Dzogchen and the instructions of Dzogchen from a qualified lama. Then, when practicing, whatever you see, whether rainbow lights or deity forms, you must not tell others. If you tell important things, it is said that the guardians of this dharma are the three: Za, Dam, and Gza, and opposition will arise. Therefore, not telling others is the samaya of this dharma, it is said. Note: The practice of meditation to be practiced has mostly been said. Then, the conduct from the tantras is: Practicing the body of Kunsang Busu and asceticism. Although many things such as Phyogs las rnam rgyal etc. are said, conduct that is not in accordance with the time is a great precipice. The conduct of Kuntuzangpo has no precipice. Therefore, this is the essence of all Kagyu paths. The conduct of the body is mainly discipline and morality. The arising of the mind is careful with the generation of Bodhicitta. The main practice is to meditate on the profound path of generation and completion. The main practice is to abandon evil and do good. The main place is to show hermitages and monasteries. The main caution is to avoid alcohol like poison. The main attachment is not to lead the feet of the doctrine. The main benefit is to cultivate love and compassion. The main reversal of obstacles is to strive for completion, torma, and tsok. The main turning away from others is, except for gathering the doctrine, lamas, and sangha (31) etc., to abandon the thought of hoarding one's own private wealth. The main pure appearance is to abandon jealousy, competition, and meaningless talk, scolding, and respect without understanding. The main beginning is to punish those who can be subdued, and to abandon the thought of holding resentment towards enemies who cannot be subdued. The main benefit to others is, for those who rely on oneself, to do whatever is beneficial in this life and the next, whenever and wherever it is appropriate. Seeking gain through gain, abandoning the profit of wrong livelihood, and the two benefits of the four objects of gathering. Although the methods are the same, the intention is different. If you know the difference in intention, the key point of Bodhicitta, then the means of attaining enlightenment will naturally be present. Enduring suffering and stubbornness without knowing the key point, even if it is very great, the foundation is small. In order for all beings, including one's own body, possessions, and roots of virtue, to attain Buddhahood, repeatedly offer to the lamas and yidams. Do not have even a hair's breadth of self-grasping. All actions such as eating, drinking, walking, and doing, offer to the Three Jewels.
