The eight are manifested as eight great iron wolves, appearing at the tip of the nose. The eight great Yama kings of the south are manifested as eight black dogs, following behind. The mantra for their practice is: Om Du Yog Zha Mahakala Trag Shad Du Zhe Ma Ra Ni Zaza. The visualization is as described above for the wealth deity. At the time of great Torma rituals and other activities, (438) at the end of that practice mantra, add: Ra Tsa Zhe Ba Sha Du Du, Ma Ra Ra Kuk Kuk Ra Aga Sha Ya Zaza Mahakala Rupa Rupa Sha Zhen Nang, Tsai Ba Nang, Ma Ra Ya Nang, Du Mahakala Trag Shad, Shu Du Du Gu Re Be Be Tun Cha Mo La Ma Ra Ya So So. Combine these into one and recite. The first mantra, the practice mantra, is the summoning, the second is the cursing, and the third is the killing. The Torma mantra is: after the practice mantra, add Zhe Yang Zhe Be Wa Le Da Da Dama Niang Zhe Ga Ka Ka Hei Ka Hei. The praise and supplication are: Do not be distracted, do not be distracted, protectors. Please descend, please descend, black protector. And so on. Here, only a brief mention is made of what is needed in the case of great Torma rituals and so on. The details should be learned from the instructions for the combined practice of the four wheels, Kshetrapala, and the individual required practices of Trag Shad. In this way, divide each day into six sessions, and in the last session of the accumulated days, raise the large Torma offering to the sky, and then bless all the large and small Torma offerings at the same time. After that, perform the six methods of killing and so on, and then offer all the large and small Torma offerings at the same time. When offering the Torma, (440) in all these previous and subsequent sessions, do not be distracted at the beginning, and the sending off of the Torma and the clapping of hands at the end, as well as the visualization, are the same as in the previous Torma practice. Then comes the calculation of retreat. Do not encounter a face with sound. Do not encounter the sunlight and your own face. Do not meet with an inauspicious day. Strive to hang banners and the sound of musical instruments, as well as the smoke of great meat, and the offering of blood, and scattering inner offerings, leading the tip of the Torma. Except for the yidam of the Dharma friends who have received empowerment and abide by the vows, take away the Torma of the protector and retinue. Even in the worst case, go to the end of forty (441) nine steps.

Arrange the tormas facing forward in a row. First, offer the essence of chang (Tibetan beer), and dedicate it to the worldly gods, nagas, and other malicious beings by reciting "Om Ah Hum" (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओम् आः हूँ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ āḥ hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om Ah Hum), instructing them to roar. Then, instead of making a general offering, in its place, recite "Hum! From the vast palace of Dharmakaya" (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुँ, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) and so on, making a fierce urging. With extremely firm divine pride, visualize the main torma, along with its radiance, as poison, weapons, diseases, and a heap of fire arising from the syllable "Hum" (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुँ, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum), possessing the power to destroy all three realms in an instant. Visualize all enemies and obstacles as being reduced to dust, and then throw it, fiercely reciting the words to spread the teachings. Then, the retinue recites their respective mantras mentioned earlier and throws their respective tormas in order. Then, recite the mantra loudly and clap the hands. After that, recite "Om Vajra Raksha Raksha Hum" (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་རཀྵ་རཀྵ་ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओम् वज्र रक्ष रक्ष हुम्, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra rakṣa rakṣa hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om Vajra Protect Protect Hum). After throwing the torma from one's own place, visualize it being cut off by a vajra fence. Establish a protective circle, and all the teachers and disciples should not look back. Leave nothing (443) behind in that place. Recite the mantra and come inside, covering the mouth of the black triangle drawn there with the torma plate face down. All subsequent rituals such as offerings and praises should be performed as during the torma practice, and the traces of the activity should be concealed. Thus, the method of making the great torma has been described. This is only one aspect of the activity, and the methods of combining various activities after reaching a certain level of recitation and practice should be learned from the respective instructions. It is said that Yeshe Gonpo's blessings are swift, and although it seems that prayers and torma offerings are only a small matter (444), in most cases, the order of recitation, practice, and activity is rarely established. Seeing that unskilled people mix in artificial fabrications and that few possess the essential points of the instructions, therefore, in order to clearly distinguish the order, these densely arranged words were written by Vajradhara Gelek Palzangpo. By this virtue, may all beings be victorious over the enemies of the four maras!
