One should remain in that state. Then, on the crown of the Protector, visualize a lama with a liver-colored (107) body, holding a damaru in his right hand and shaking a bell in his left. From his heart, light radiates, merging with all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, heroes and heroines, and lineage lamas, all with liver-colored bodies, immeasurable in number. Thus, contemplate the lama as having the nature of light, surrounded by a mass of purplish-red light, with a smiling face. On the forehead of the Protector, visualize a red ཧྲཱིཿ (Tibetan: ཧྲཱིཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः, Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Chinese literal meaning: shā) on top of a mandala of vermillion light, surrounded by the nature of light. Recite: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ན་ར་ཀྲི༚་ཀྲི༚་ཧཱུྃ་ཧཱུྃ་ཕཊ་ཕཊ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ། (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ན་ར་ཀྲི༚་ཀྲི༚་ཧཱུྃ་ཧཱུྃ་ཕཊ་ཕཊ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र नर कृः कृः हूँ हूँ फट् फट् स्वाहा, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra nara kṛḥ kṛḥ hūṃ hūṃ phaṭ phaṭ svāhā, Chinese literal meaning: ōng bān zá nà lā kè lì kè lì hōng hōng pā pā suō hā), contemplating it as being surrounded by the nature of liver-colored light (108). Accompanied by music, fervently supplicate the lama. Recite the supplication of "Namo Buddhaya" three times. From the lama, liver-colored light emerges, and the Protector's body instantly transforms into a liver-colored, purplish-red light. Contemplate that all the retinue also transforms into red-purple light. Then, supplicate again, and the lama's nature of light merges into the Protector's nature of light. Visualize the Nara Kṛḥ Kṛḥ mantra on the vermillion rotating rapidly. Then, the lama sounds the damaru and bell, making the sounds ཆེ༚་ཆེ༚་འུར་འུར་, subduing all heroes, heroines, and the three realms. From the Protector's body and the vermillion ཧྲཱིཿ (Tibetan: ཧྲཱིཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः, Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Chinese literal meaning: shā) mantra (109), purplish-red light radiates, pervading all the Dharma protector's retinue, and all the heroes and heroines, etc., and all three realms, pervading and subduing them with light, visualizing it like a magnet attracting iron filings. Recite Nara Kṛḥ Kṛḥ three or two times, and one-third of the root mantra. Without distraction, with single-pointedness, for three periods, one can subdue the heroines and Dharma protectors. Arrange the ornaments, torma, and tsokhor these three, according to the text, and practice. Alternatively, in the preliminary practice of virtuous deeds, recite it one hundred and eight times. The Protector spoke these words three times to Shavaripa. (110) If you give more than one lineage, you will be stained with the sin of giving the life-essence of the dakinis and falling into the Avici hell. Therefore, keep this secret. Do not give my life-vein to an unsuitable vessel.
