The red one has one face and two arms, holding a curved knife and a skull cup filled with blood. To the north is green Tara, her right hand holding an utpala flower and her left hand making the gesture of supreme generosity. All four are standing. The two mothers have pendulous breasts and are smiling. The two fathers have wrathful smiles. They emanate many manifestations of themselves. (811) Outside of that are the ten guardians of the directions, headed by Indra. Furthermore, there are the eight great gods, the eight great nagas, the eight great planets, the four guardians of the world, the twenty-eight constellations, and the nine great destroyers, totaling seventy-five protectors of the pure lineage, surrounded by the assembly of beings from the three realms. Outside of these is the host of oath-bound ones, who delight in flesh and blood, revel in blood, have no compassion, are wrathful and fierce, have ugly colors, unseemly faces, bloodshot eyes, gaping mouths, gnashing teeth, and hold (812) various weapons in their hands. The terrifying yakshas, yamas, matrikas, flesh-eating rakshasas, the assembly of oath-bound ones who gather the life force of sentient beings, fill the entire sky and earth. Outside of that, the entire surrounding area is a circular fence made of skulls, with banners of sheep's wool hanging above, and a quivering mass of wet matter in between. Bones are scattered, and waves of blood churn and roar, emitting various terrifying sounds. At the crown of the head of all the main deities and their retinues is a white wheel marked with the syllable (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Devanagari: ओ, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, Literal meaning: Om); at the throat is a red lotus marked with the syllable (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Devanagari: आः, Romanized Sanskrit: āḥ, Literal meaning: Ah); (813) at the heart is a blue vajra marked with the syllable (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum). Again, light radiates from the syllable (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) at the heart, inviting the protector of the protective circle and his retinue, as well as the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and their retinues, to appear in the form of wrathful deities and wrathful goddesses. Om Shri Maha Kalaya Saparivara Ahya Hi. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཤྲཱི་མ་ཧཱ་ཀཱ་ལ་ཡ་ས་པ་རི་བ་ར་ཨ་ཧྱ་ཧི།) Invoke the wisdom beings with twenty-one long strings. Offer with Om Shri Maha Kalaya Saparivara Argham to Shapta. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཤྲཱི་མ་ཧཱ་ཀཱ་ལ་ཡ་ས་པཱ་རི་ཝ་ར་ཨརྒྷཾ་ནས་ཤཔྟའི་བར་གྱིས་མཆོད།) Dza Hum Bam Hoh. (Tibetan: ཛཿཧཱུྃ་བྃ་ཧོཿ) Become inseparable from the commitment beings. The wisdom beings reside, and the protected ones reside simultaneously in front and behind oneself. (814) The empowerment deity is not needed. With the hands forming the vajra mudra, recite: Om Vajra Raksha Raksha Hum. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་རཀྵ་རཀྵ་ཧཱུྃ།) By reciting this, the protective circle is strengthened.
