Liberation comes from knowing the three kayas without abandoning anything. If you understand self-arising and self-liberation, there is no doubt that you will be liberated by the passage of time. Thus it is said. If you practice all of these in one session, visualize the lama on the crown of your head and pray. Then, visualize all appearances as the lama, generate devotion, and pray. After that, contemplate the outer world as a celestial palace. Visualize all appearances as the yidam and offer worship. Understand the extent of sound (402) as the sound-emptiness mantra. All lamas, yidams, and mantra recitations are dreams, illusions. When various thoughts such as the five poisons and three poisons arise unceasingly, recognize them as self-arising and be liberated by knowing them without attachment. Alternatively, by knowing all arising thoughts as illusions and dreams, you will attain Buddhahood in one lifetime and one body. In short, do not separate from the lama at the crown of your head, do not separate from the yidam in your body, do not separate from prayers and recitations in your speech, do not separate from nectar in your food and drink, do not separate from the illusion and dream of memory and thought, or the self-arising and self-liberation of the five poisons. Practice without separating from the Dharma protectors in front of you. If you practice in this way, it is impossible not to attain Buddhahood (403) through the passage of time. If you practice while guarding the impurities of body, speech, and mind in your youth, it is impossible not to go to the pure realm of Khechara. The two benefits will be perfectly fulfilled. This is the heart essence of the Victorious Gyatso (possibly referring to the Dalai Lama), the life essence of the heroes and dakinis, the source of the accomplished ones, and the single lineage of the lamas and accomplished ones, so there is no need for doubt or hesitation. Keep it secret. Emaho! Emaho! Emaho! Third, there are two ways to take illusion as the path based on appearances: daytime and nighttime. Having generated the body as the yidam, visualize the lama on the crown of your head. Precious Lama, please let go of self-grasping. May the unnecessary arise in the continuum... May the illusory body and dream be perfected... (404) May the clear light Mahamudra arise in the continuum... Pray as much as you can. By this, appearances vanish into emptiness, and in the triangle of Dharma arising below your navel, white on the outside and red on the inside. Visualize the sentient beings of the six realms. All these sufferings, such as the hot and cold hells, are self-

Other than illusory appearances, nothing exists as truly established. All of these are unreal dreams. Generate a strong intention that everything is an illusion. Also, pray to the Lama. Through prayer and strong intention, appearances will dissolve into emptiness. This appearance is like a dream. My body is a mind-made body. Thinking about how to train in the appearance of dreams and the mind-made body, practice penetrating and transcending whatever form or object is in front of you. Whatever is trained will multiply immeasurably. Train in that. Again, train in emanation of the body in what has been multiplied. Then, transform earth into water, water into fire, fire into wind. Transform the four elements from subtle to coarse, and from coarse to subtle. Whatever needs to be tamed, do the same: to tame a dog, transform into a wolf; to tame a wolf, transform into a tiger; to tame a tiger, a lion; to tame a lion, a garuda; to tame a garuda, transform into white, blue, yellow, red, and green deities. In short, meditate that the entire earth and space are filled with the five families of deities (406), and practice training and multiplying. Meditate on the Lama at the crown of the head of the deity and pray. Focus single-mindedly on the thought of illusion and dream. That is Samadhi. All post-meditation should be carried into illusion and dream. As stated in the Compendium: "Walking, standing, sleeping, and sitting, be fully endowed with awareness. Look as far as the yoke, and walk without confusion in mind." Therefore, during all activities such as walking, standing, sleeping, sitting, eating, drinking, and speaking, think: I will die tonight, I will die tomorrow, I will die now. Whatever happens, what should I do? And generate strong devotion and longing for the Lama. Ah! I have fallen asleep. This appearance is a dream. My body is a mind-made body. Thinking about how to train in the appearance of dreams (407) and the mind-made body, practice training, multiplying, emanating, and transforming all that appears. Pray to the Lama as before. In this way, spend the daytime with these two paths of Samadhi and post-meditation. Second, the night: the three key points of both dream and clear light, and the key point of the body.
