The method of introduction: The disciples, having bathed, offer prostrations and mandalas, and present the fees for introduction. After they are seated, recite the following: Nagarjuna wandered extensively in the great ocean. The chance of a neck entering a yoke is even rarer than a turtle finding a hole, and human existence is even more difficult to obtain than that of animals. Therefore, O King, may you achieve the fruit by practicing the sacred Dharma! Thus it is said. It explains that human existence is difficult to obtain, and if one does not strive when it is obtained, there is no opportunity for liberation in this great ocean of samsara, so one must enter the Dharma. Among them, the Lesser Vehicle, the Hearers, only desire to attain their own peace. The view (566) that clings to one side of beings and factions, the path that is only emptiness of inherent existence, is inferior in comparison to the Great Vehicle. The Student's Letter says: Relatives are submerged in the ocean of samsara, appearing as if submerged in the depths of a ravine. Having been born and transmigrated without knowing reality, if one abandons them and goes to one extreme alone, what is more shameless? Thus it is said. The Ornament of the Sutras says: These two repeatedly arise constantly in one's own mind. Therefore, it is said to be the supreme realization for the sake of directly realizing nirvana. Thus it is said. Furthermore, one wishes to attain complete perfect enlightenment (567), dark blue-black, right leg extended, left leg bent, one face, two arms, holding a khatvanga (藏文:ཁ་ཊྭཱྃ་ག,梵文天城体:खट्वाङ्ग,梵文罗马拟音:khaṭvāṅga,汉语字面意思:卡杖嘎) and a skull cup filled with blood, embracing the consort Buddha Dakini, whose body color and hand implements are the same as the deity. To the north, on top of a four-tiered seat, on top of a buffalo, is Vajrabhairava, black, one face, two arms, holding a curved knife and a skull cup filled with blood, embracing the consort Rolangma, red, holding a knife and skull cup. Sniffing and gnashing teeth, tongue rolled, body short and stout, large belly, adorned especially with snakes. In the second mandala, inside the vase palace visualized, again generate the five deities as before (568). The third mandala is the support for the samadhi empowerments. In its center is Hevajra Lhanche, and on its four sides, to the east is Vajra Dakini, black; to the north is Lama, green; to the west is Khandarohi, red; and to the south is Rupavati, yellow, all with one face and two arms, holding a curved knife and a skull cup. In the crook of the arm is a khatvanga (藏文:ཁ་ཊྭཱྃ་ག,梵文天城体:खट्वाङ्ग,梵文罗马拟音:khaṭvāṅga,汉语字面意思:卡杖嘎), right leg bent, left leg extended, seated on a corpse seat. Thus, all the father and mother deities are adorned with marks and signs.

Blazing with light, residing in the midst of flames, with different faces, three piercing eyes, adorned with five skulls as a crown, possessing the nine moods of dance. All (569) should be seen as without self, without limit, and empty of inherent existence; one must enter the Great Vehicle. Compared to the two, surpassing the Paramitas, entering the Mantra Vehicle, even if the meaning is the same, one will not be confused. Methods are numerous and without difficulty, and because of sharp faculties, the Mantra Vehicle is especially supreme. Thus it is said, one must enter it. Furthermore, in the Vajra Song it is said: For the inferior, there is the Action Tantra; for those who do not act, there is Yoga; for the supreme sentient beings, there is Supreme Yoga. As it is said, one should enter the Anuttarayoga. Therefore, one must first receive empowerment. In the Glorious Vajra Garland Tantra it says: Initially, when any (570) disciple, possessing intelligence, is properly empowered, then for the Yoga of the Completion Stage, at that time, one becomes a vessel. If one is without proper empowerment, even if the practitioner knows the meaning of the tantra, the teacher and student alike will fall into the great hell of incessant suffering. Furthermore, in the Great Seal of the Bindu Tantra it says: Without empowerment, there is no accomplishment, like squeezing mustard seeds without oil. If someone, with pride in the words of the tantra, teaches to those who have not received empowerment, the teacher and student, immediately after death, even if they attain accomplishment, will be born in hell. Therefore, with all effort, one should request empowerment from the lama. Furthermore, in the Supreme First Enlightenment (571) it says: Without empowerment, teaching mantras and meditating on that profoundness, even if one knows its meaning well, one will fall into hell and will not be liberated. Furthermore, in the Buddha Skull Tantra it says: For example, a lute, even with all the collection of instruments, if there are no strings, it cannot be played. Likewise, for one without empowerment, there is no supreme accomplishment. If one has received empowerment, then benefits opposite to the above will arise. In the Secret Collection it says: If empowerment is properly and completely given, in life after life, one will receive empowerment. Therefore, in seven lifetimes, even without practice, one will attain accomplishment. Thus it is said. (572) Before empowerment, one must engage in the mandala, and there are three ways to do this. In the Vajra Bell it says: The preliminary for empowerment is the mandala, thus spoke Vajradhara.
