Furthermore, as the scripture says, "Without attachment to the world, manifest accomplishment is achieved." Therefore, it is necessary not to be attached to the world. In the place of Gnam Seng-ldeng, when meeting with Dpal Chen Ga-lo and Zhang Rin-po-che, Zhang Rin-po-che looked at Zhang with compassionate eyes and said many times, "You will become the master of all my Dharma and teachings, and will benefit sentient beings." I requested him to keep it in mind, and he said, "You have an obstacle." I asked what it was, and he said, "At the end of the valley, there is a gold mine and the accumulated profit of a butter ball." I asked, "What is wrong with that?" He said, "It will hinder the profound Dharma from arising in your mind. If you ordain, the karmic result of accumulating profit is very great. One of my disciples, in a previous life, kept the precepts, obtained a human body, then ordained and accumulated profit, and is now born in hell." Therefore, Zhang Rin-po-che said that if one clings to anything, until the foundation is fully established, for one's own benefit, then the Dharma protector of the Lama Rin-po-che will cut off his head. He made hundreds of prostrations, and through practice, special merits arose. Khenchen Mchims said, "Wisdom is needed to eliminate afflictions from the root. For this, shamatha is needed. For this, the three doors of body, speech, and mind need to be in a secluded place. A monk should reduce affairs and reduce activities." He increased the amount of grain and said. The Buddha's teachings say, "Vipassanā without shamatha is like a whetstone without a hone." In short, in order for the wisdom of vipassanā to arise, shamatha is needed, and for this, it is necessary not to be attached to the world. It is important to cultivate aversion to unnecessary attachments. If introduced without grasping the basis of abiding, the meaning will be lost, leading to sectarian trading and engaging in various non-Dharmic activities. Because the danger is great, it is very important to abide first. Dampa Rin-po-che and Lama Zhang sometimes introduce on top of after-the-fact thinking, although this seems to work well for those who can understand, but because it is difficult to understand, the point will be missed. It is easier to introduce from the state of abiding in samadhi, which is the key. When sleeping, do not stretch the joints, do not spit, etc. Furthermore, at all times, keep the body upright. The four elements are discordant and cannot be controlled.

Moreover, one must speak truthfully. One practitioner is needed for the four paths of wisdom. It arises when sitting on a cushion. Otherwise, it will not arise. Therefore, it cannot be examined. Furthermore, since it does not arise naturally from the beginning, it needs to be learned, so learning now is important. It is said that one should teach those who are connected. They have gone through the calm abiding with characteristics, and now they teach in the manner of calm abiding without characteristics. After the process of searching for the mind, Jekong Lama said: Even though I searched for the sacred Dharma in India, what is ultimately determined is only one's own mind. When the mind observes the mind, what is the use of many methods? Rinpoche said that this observation of the mind is very important. Because all appearances are one's own mind, if one recognizes the mind and understands the mind, everything else will naturally be liberated. So, are all appearances the self-light of one's own mind? Are they the self-form? Indeed, they are. The Vajra Song quotes "precious mind" and so on. Kunjed Gyalpo says, "I am Kawa," saying that "I Kawa" does not contain duality. The mere term "Mind-Only" has two aspects: eliminating superimposition and setting limits. Here, it is said to be merely eliminating superimposition. Because appearances are one's own mind, should they be introduced or not? If one already recognizes it, there is no need to introduce it. If one (362) does not recognize it, even if introduced, it is of no use. However, because one is obscured by the discriminating thoughts that cling to external objects and does not truly recognize it, now, through the blessings of the guru and the special means of blessings, the defilements are cleared away, and one recognizes it. This is called the guidance of appearances as one's own mind. The way these are guided, for all Sakyapas, starting from the Lamdre (Path and Result), relying on eight similes, four similes, and thirty-two similes, it is explained how appearances are introduced as one's own mind. Jigten Sumgön also extensively taught the guidance of appearances as one's own mind. Here, following the Sutra of Admonishing the King, it is shown separately in detail, and to explain it slightly, it says, "Because one thing's self is different, the meaning is not established, thus it is thought." This means that for one thing, the way it appears is different. As it is said in the sutra, for one thing, gods see the king of stones, Amolika, etc. (363), humans see humans, animals, ants, maggots, etc., see enjoyment and houses, and hell beings see the ground of burning iron. For a vase in front, one should look at it in this way.
