That's right. This is the meaning of what was said. When walking on a flat ground or circumambulating, maintain the three natural postures, and walk slowly in a dazed state. When walking fast or slow, even if mothers and sisters appear, do not feel ashamed or shrink back, (208) but remain in a dazed state without wavering. Niguma said, "Even if surrounded by a hundred wise mothers and sisters, do not have thoughts of shame or shrinking back." This is what she said. When sleeping or resting comfortably, learn as before. Observe the difference between body posture and meditation. For these, do the preliminary refuge and bodhicitta, guru yoga, the concluding dedication, and exhaling stale air during breaks, as described in the first target. Second, learning without support: With the body posture and gaze as before, in the center of the empty space directly in front of the eyebrow center, remain in a dazed state. Do not consider where the place is, do not think about where you (209) are. Do not rely on anything, do not cling to any essence. By relaxing without artifice or fabrication, clear and non-conceptual wisdom arises naturally, like the sky realm completely pure. After that, turn your attention inward and observe the mind with the mind. If the mind is a thing or exists in a thing, observe what its color and shape are like. Observe whether it is located outside or inside the body. If it is inside, observe whether it is located at the top of the head, the bottom of the feet, the upper part of the chest in the middle, or in the five types of heart, etc. If it is located in an external object, observe whether it is located in a subtle or coarse object. Is it located in the intermediate moving breath, or in a conceptual name? Determine where it is located (210). If you say that it is located in an indeterminate non-entity, ask whether it is like dust carried away by the wind, nothing at all, or a clear awareness that cannot be determined? If you say it is an indeterminate clear awareness, then all the various appearances of samsara and nirvana are the radiance or self-light of your own mind. Therefore, nothing is established outside. Cite many scriptural statements from sutras, tantras, treatises, and pith instructions. Appearances are self-

Let it be decided. Then introduce the main text. Or guide in this way: After completing the preliminaries. It is sung: Outside of the precious mind, there is neither Buddha nor sentient beings. The place of consciousness or external things, there is not a bit. Thus it is said. In the Two Truths it is said: The speaker is me, the Dharma is also me. The listener with his own retinue is me. The teacher of the world, what is to be accomplished is also me. The world, the transcendent world is also me. The nature of co-emergent joy is me. Thus it is said. From me all beings arise. From me the three places also arise. I pervade all this. I have not seen another nature other than that of beings. Thus it is said. Self-awareness is the king, oneself is the master. Oneself takes away, oneself creates. Thus it is said. Just like the external environment. Thus it is said. In the All-Creating King it is said: Before I was, there was no Buddha and sentient beings, no realization of ground and path, no fruition body and wisdom, all was done by me. Thus it is said. In the Lankavatara Sutra it is said: The mind disturbed by habits, appears as real. It is not real, it is only the nature of mind, thinking that the external is real is inverted. Thus it is said. Abiding in mind-only, do not distinguish the external. Thus it is said. One thing is the cause, each is the condition, therefore it is thought that the real is not established. Thus it is said. In the Avatamsaka Sutra it is said: O sons of the Buddhas! These three realms, arise from the mind, therefore it is only mind. Thus it is said. The great Brahmin Saraha said: Mind alone is the seed of all things, to those who cycle in samsara and nirvana, it grants the fruit of desires, I prostrate to the wish-fulfilling jewel-like mind. Thus it is said. Birwapa said: All dharmas are the appearance of mind-nature, they are reflections. Thus it is said. Teacher Senge Zangpo said: This is only mind-only, there is no external object. Thus it is said. Dharmakirti said: Since the object is determined simultaneously, blue and pleasure are not other. Thus it is said. In the Sutra of Advice to the King it is said: Relying on the dream of happiness, the dream of suffering, the dream of non-indication, the method of determining appearance as mind, the inconceivable Dharma is proclaimed, these are the sources of practical instructions.
