It should be known. Secondly, one should have faith that it is in accordance with the scriptures. The venerable Avalokiteśvara said: "With the nature of phenomena as the finest dust, possessing the nature of the most subtle, endowed with all excellent aspects, I bow to the Mahāmudrā." Thus, the reality itself is taught as Mahāmudrā. In the Two Examinations Tantra, it says: "This wisdom is extremely subtle, like the center of the vajra sky, free from dust, ultimately peaceful, you yourself are the father of it." Thus it is said, this wisdom is not an object of conceptual thought, therefore it is extremely subtle. Because it destroys ignorance, it is vajra. Like the sky, it does not change in the beginning, middle, and end. Because one realizes the self-wisdom that pacifies all the dust of things and characteristics, it is the father. Thus it is said. Such wisdom has existed since beginningless time as the reality of all things. In the Root Tantra of Chakrasamvara, it says: "Whether the Buddhas have come or have not come, at all times, this inconceivable nature of phenomena exists, free from increase and decrease." Thus it is said. In the Saṃbhuṭi Tantra, it says: "The Buddha dwells in one's own body, nowhere else is there a Buddha. Those who are obscured by the darkness of ignorance desire the Buddha outside the body." Thus it is said. Therefore, it is said that it is the clear light Dharmakāya. Some say: It is only considered that the Tathāgatagarbha or Buddha-seed exists in the mindstream of sentient beings. If it is said like that, it is not so. In the Mahāparinirvāṇa Sūtra, it says: "The realm of sentient beings is another name for the Tathāgatagarbha. The Tathāgatagarbha is another name for the Dharmakāya." Thus it is said. Also, in the Noble Arrow of Wisdom Sutra, it says: "(148) If you realize the mind, you are a Buddha, you should meditate on the concept of not seeking the Buddha elsewhere." Thus it is said. That is also the ultimate truth, and it is also the Dharmakāya. In the Sutra of No Increase and No Decrease, it says: "Śāriputra, what is called the ultimate truth is another name for the Tathāgatagarbha. Śāriputra, what is called the realm of sentient beings is another name for the Tathāgata. Śāriputra, what is called the Tathāgatagarbha is the Dharma body.

It is the supreme speech of body, speech, and mind. It is said so. Some say that if the realm of sentient beings is the Dharmakaya, then it is enough, and there is no point in practicing the path. If you say that, it is not so. It is necessary to practice the path in order to remove defilements. As the venerable Avalokiteshvara said: (149) "Just as fire always resides in wood, but cannot be seen by cutting and separating, from rough wood, showing rubbing with the hand, those who dwell in it can also be seen. Likewise, the luminosity of the mind is realized, but cannot be seen by various methods of meditation, in that it is only impure, and can be seen by mixing with one taste." Thus it is said, and the noble Nagarjuna said: "Just as fire dwells in wood, it will not arise until it is rubbed. Likewise, a Buddha without familiarity will not be attained in this life." Thus it is said, and the Bhagavan said in the Hevajra Tantra: "All sentient beings are Buddhas, but they are stained by sudden defilements. If they are purified, they are Buddhas." And so on, explaining the necessity of practicing the path (150). The way in which the wisdom of Shamatha-Vipassana arises through the practice of the path is also, in the Abhisamaya of the Five Deities of Chakrasamvara composed by the Siddha Kyungpo: "After the five signs such as smoke appear, the Dharmata like a cloudless sky is manifested." Thus, the luminosity of Dharmata is spoken of, and it is also said in the Uttaratantra of the Glorious Guhyasamaja: "From the mind that proceeds to the Vajra of Cessation, the clinging to signs arises, that sign is of five kinds, spoken by Bodhi Vajra. The first is the appearance of a mirage, the second is the appearance of smoke, the third is the appearance of space, the fourth is the burning of a lamp, the fifth is the constant appearance, like a cloudless sky." And so on, speaking of the luminosity of smoke and light (151). In detail, for those with sharp faculties who are free from the defilements of conceptual thought, the gateway to the arising of luminosity will be explained as it is. Niguma emphasizes the preliminaries, if experience does not arise in the preliminaries, even if it is pointed out, it cannot be recognized, therefore, experiencing the preliminaries is the most important. This is to say, from then on, enjoying the feast begins auspiciously.
