Ah, excellent! The key to speech is to remain silent, and the key to mind is to destroy concepts. As it is said, do not chase after external objects, but rest in emptiness. Destroy all concepts of mind and fabrication, and rest effortlessly, openly, and completely. This is also called ordinary awareness or primordial awareness. Before mastering it, it is important to focus on it and meditate. The second part is the main practice, which is divided into the self-liberation of four faults and the accomplishment of four qualities. The first is: not seeing because it is too close, not believing because it is too easy, not understanding because it is too subtle, and not accommodating it in the mind because it is too good. This is the self-liberation of the four faults, which is the first point. There is no fault of not seeing because it is too close. The closest is to meditate in one's own mind in a way of non-action, and see if one can see it. Because no basis is needed. There is no need to not believe because it is too easy. Like the moment of waves and intercourse. As it is said, the Buddha said that it appears when enjoying waves, cutting off intercourse, and being extremely exhausted. What appears is that the object of appearance and the awareness of the grasper are separated, and it naturally exists in a bright, clear state. This is ordinary awareness without fabrication. This is the main object of meditation. Ordinary awareness awakens in the center of the heart. Because it is taught in this way. There is no fault of not understanding because it is too subtle. Not seeing is the best seeing. As it is said, knowing that there is nothing to see and understand, and then resting effortlessly in it is enough. There is no need to not accommodate it in the mind because it is too good. Homage! The Tathagatagarbha pervades all beings. Because the Buddha himself said that the Tathagatagarbha, which is the essence of awareness separated from all extremes, exists in the hearts of all beings. Therefore, after being liberated from the four faults, the second part is the accomplishment of the four qualities. First, control with strong intention to seek shamatha. In the middle, liberate intention in itself to practice vipassana. Finally, maintain the continuity of union in a state of ordinariness, non-fabrication, and openness. Furthermore, by familiarizing oneself with it without meditation or distraction, thereby determining the conclusion of non-elaboration. First, continuously control with strong intention day and night, focus on the key points, and meditate without distraction. Even if one meditates only for a short while, not only is there no progress, but...

It is not possible to continuously practice meditation. The method of meditation is as follows: As it is said, "Alternate between settling and continuous settling (93)." Sever all attachments to other thoughts, and naturally settle on your own mind. When a distracting thought arises, restrain it repeatedly with strong intention, and do not allow it to wander. If you still cannot prevent it from wandering, then fix your mind on the object of focus. Do not let it continuously wander. Quickly examine the wandering, and then return to it again. As it is said, immediately recognize the wandering, and without acceptance or rejection, naturally settle in equanimity. Understand such a method of meditation, and practice diligently day and night. If you only meditate briefly during meditation sessions, or meditate with a fickle mind, then not even a sesame seed-sized result will arise, so it is important to persevere and strive in meditation. Second, in the intermediate stage, dissolve thoughts into their own place (94), and practice vipassana (insight meditation). If you meditate repeatedly as before, you may initially feel that there are more thoughts, but this is only because you have recognized the thoughts, so there is no major problem. After that, do not be lazy, but strive to meditate, and the thoughts will decrease, and the duration of abiding will increase. At that point, relax the tension of the body, and meditate in a relaxed manner, that is the key point. Or, "This mind bound by ropes, once loosened, there is no doubt that it will be liberated." As it is said, first carefully observe the nature of the mind, and then without fabrication, relax and let go. Like this, continuously meditate without interruption of distraction, and after a while, no matter when you settle, you will naturally abide. Third, in the ordinary, unfabricated, relaxed state, continuously practice the union (of shamatha and vipassana). That is, you must practice in all post-meditation and meditation states. First (95), whatever object appears in your mind, carefully observe its nature, and then unfabricatedly and relaxedly let go. Similarly, as it is said, "Enjoy the nectar of various objects," allow various objects to appear, carefully observe the nature of what appears, and unfabricatedly let go. Similarly, release far upwards, and downwards, towards places like Oddiyana (Oḍḍiyāna) and Bodh Gaya, release far away, and then abide unfabricatedly. Sometimes in the mind,
