Homage to (488) the Yogini. The emanation of the mother's body is inconceivable, I know you are the Nirmanakaya. The subject of speech is inconceivable, I know you are the Sambhogakaya. The mind of bliss and emptiness is inconceivable, I know you are the Dharmakaya. The three bodies are inseparable Vajra body, I know you are the very body. So it is said. "Appearing according to what is to be subdued" indicates the branch of the Nirmanakaya, as it says in the Ornament of Clear Realization: Whoever, as long as samsara exists, Does various things to benefit beings, That body which performs them simultaneously, Is the unceasing Nirmanakaya of the Sage. Moreover, the Wisdom Dakini herself, Emanates the Nirmanakaya that appears according to what is to be subdued, Showing places, times, Dharma wheels, etc., According to the inclinations of the beings to be tamed, Emanating inconceivable emanations, Showing herself in this and that body, Until the ocean of samsara is emptied, Like a lotus undefiled by mud, Or like a wish-fulfilling jewel, She ripens and liberates sentient beings. So it is said. What is heard? It is heard that the self-sound of the unborn Mahayana is said thus. This means that "thus it is said" in Sanskrit is "E-Vam". The meaning of this, In the Glorious Kalachakra: Whoever dwells in the letter E-Vam, Is the place of supreme bliss, Where body, speech, and mind reside. Moreover, the Hevajra says: The letter E, whose form is very beautiful, Adorned in the center with the letter Vam, Is the place of all bliss, The precious treasury of the Buddhas. Moreover, the Stainless Light says: (490) The nature of wisdom and means combined, I prostrate to the letter E-Vam. Thus and so on, it is extensively explained. The meaning of E-Vam is: Wisdom and means, or emptiness endowed with all kinds of excellence, and the meaning of the great bliss that is supremely immutable, the union of equal taste. The meaning of these, in detail, can be understood from my commentary on E-Vam, "Clarifying the Essential Points of the Great Secret Tantra Section". Then, how can Vajradhara hear from others? The meaning of hearing, Is said to be knowing or understanding, as in the King of Condensed Tantras: What is said, "I have heard thus from the pure Tantra," means that I know thus. Moreover, the Vajra Heart Commentary says: Hearing is knowing.

The ground is self-nature. (Seed syllable) At one time, one attains complete and perfect enlightenment in a single instant. (Seed syllable) The Bhagavan is great bliss. (Seed syllable) Thus it is said. Therefore, in the vajra verses of the Rechung oral transmission, it is also said: The great vehicle, unborn self-sound, is heard thus. Vajradhara, I explain for the sake of the fortunate. Thus, it clearly exists in the texts attached to the handprints of the Kagyu forefathers, but it is translated as "heard." And here, the meaning of "heard," Niguma said to Vajradhara, "heard," etc., is a self-made addition that was suddenly added later. This is the fault of not having looked upon the vast tantras with the eye of wisdom. Vajradhara the Great, there is clearly a particle that makes the third case, and there has been no examination (492) even of the mere phrase "unborn self-sound." At this time, a question like this arises: In the vajra verses of the Six Dharmas, Mahamudra, and the Three Deathless Ones, it appears that it is heard thus. In the path itself, what is the reason that it does not occur? How would it be if it were clearly explained? The reason for asking is: The introduction to the vajra verses of the Six Dharmas is, "The great vehicle, unborn self-sound, is heard thus." And, in the vajra verses of the Mahamudra Gau Ma: Great bliss, spontaneously accomplished, uncreated. The Sambhogakaya, Vajradhara the Great. Deathless wisdom self-sound, is heard thus. Such statements appear. In the vajra verses of the path, immediately after the names of the Chinese and Tibetan translators and their handprints: By relying on which supreme guru, one obtains empowerment. Dwelling in solitude, renouncing the world. Etc., the phrase "heard thus" does not appear, so what is the difference between those (493)? The vajra verses of the Six Dharmas, Mahamudra, and the Three Deathless Ones are the teachings, divided into the words of the Buddha and the treatises, so at the beginning, the sound "heard thus" is directly added. There is another reason, at the end of the vajra verses of the Six Dharmas, it is written: Translated from the mouth of the wisdom dakini by the translator Glandarma Lodrö. And, at the end of the vajra verses of the Gau Ma, it is written: The vajra verses of the self-arisen Mahamudra are complete. Pleasing that dakini, offering five hundred gold
