Day and night, and before going to sleep, one should focus single-mindedly on the lama. By doing so, the clear light will inevitably be realized. Second, regarding taking the path, there are two parts. First, taking the three kayas as the path during the day: Just as one focuses on the letter "A," the awareness should be adjusted to be neither too tight nor too loose. By gazing intently at all appearances and devoting oneself wholeheartedly, clarity and emptiness without grasping will arise while appearances do not cease. In this, clarity is the nirmanakaya, non-grasping is the dharmakaya, and bliss arising is the sambhogakaya. Second, the spontaneous arising of the three kayas at night: In the interval between sleep and dreams, do not let thoughts intervene (445), and by focusing on the previous object and falling asleep, clarity and emptiness without grasping will spontaneously arise. Third, blending has four parts. First, blending clarity and emptiness into great bliss: In the realm of the five senses, appearances do not cease, so the aspect is clear; in reality, nothing is established in any way, so the essence is empty; by focusing on this without distraction, grasping will be purified, and experience will arise as the nature of bliss. Second, blending day and night without separation: That which is clear and without thought, day and night, the two strengthen and expand each other. Third, blending meditation and post-meditation through the manner of viewing: Even though clarity and emptiness without grasping spontaneously arise in meditation (446), if one is moved by walking in post-meditation, then in all activities, by viewing all appearances with the gaze of an elephant, clarity will arise as non-thought. Fourth, blending wisdom into bliss and emptiness: Whether it is the bliss of skillful means arising from one's own body or the bliss of the wisdom mother arising from another body, by focusing on that without distraction, attachment to bliss will be purified, and emptiness will arise. Fourth, regarding the ultimate, there are five parts. First, the clear light of the spontaneous arising of clarity and emptiness: By blending and practicing in this way, it will become manifest. All appearances of the objects and subjects of the six consciousnesses will arise as the spontaneous arising of clarity and emptiness. (447) Second, the clear light of the spontaneous arising of bliss and emptiness: That bliss itself is free from all stains of attachment, and it arises as the great bliss and emptiness without outflows. Third, the clear light of profundity, peace, and freedom from elaboration: Because it transcends the realm of the mind, it is profound; because the thoughts of grasping and being grasped are purified, it is peaceful; because it is liberated from the two extremes, four extremes, or eight extremes, it is free from elaboration; it is the self-nature of mind.

Now the clear light arises. Because it is free from causes and conditions, it is not compounded (conditioned phenomena). The fourth, the indivisible ultimate clear light, is when the three, bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality, are experienced as indivisibly self-arising, and a decisive certainty arises. The fifth, the clear light with two purities (448), is that on the purity of the nature of reality, it is purified by the adventitious stains to be abandoned, or by practicing in illusory dreams, the obscurations of afflictions are purified, and by practicing the clear light Mahamudra free from illusory clinging, the obscurations of knowledge are purified. Afterwards, there are five. The first, the general and specific samayas, are the fourteen root downfalls, the eight branch downfalls, that is, twenty-two, and not moving or going beyond the object of clear light even for a moment, and even the initial practitioners should abandon wrong views towards the lama and Dharma brothers, generate devotion and pure perception without partiality, and the radiance of the clear light bindu (449), so that the elements do not decline and increase, and so on. The second, clearing obstacles, faults self-liberate, is the obstacle of clear emptiness without grasping, or the conceptual thoughts of grasping at demons. Conceptual thought is mind. Mind is unborn, so whatever faults occur, one should know that they are self-liberated, self-purified, self-empty. The third, exerting effort, cutting doubts, is that even if the Buddhas of the three times were to come, one should decide and generate certainty that there is nothing more superior to show than clear emptiness without grasping. The fourth, recognizing the excellent arising gate, is to know from the lama's mouth. The fifth, the difference between experience and realization, day and night, is that (450) what decays and disappears is experience, and what does not change and is stable is realization. Among them, day and night are the difference between whether there is a cause for waking up from sleep or not, or the strength is great or small, or good or bad. The fifth, transference has four aspects. The first, the Dharmakaya Suchness transference, is realizing one's own mind as immortal, or realizing that it is free from what is transferred and what transfers. The second, the union Yidam transference, is to visualize the Yidam on one's crown, and the lama on the crown of that, abandon self-grasping, it is not necessary, and pray to become enlightened in the bardo. At the navel, visualize one's own consciousness inseparable from the seed syllable of the Yidam as Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), and visualize that seed syllable emerging from the crown (451) and dissolving into the heart of the Yidam, so that the Yidam and one's own mind become inseparable.
