Manjushri said: It is possible to appear in that way due to the power of conceptualization. In the great city of Varanasi, a Brahmin woman's body (246) was constantly meditated upon, and as a result, all the people in the city actually saw a tiger, and everyone fled. The city became empty. Some monks meditated on everything as bones, and as a result, they saw bones. Even if these are brief, if they appear in this way, then how could the habits accumulated from beginningless time not appear? The son of the gods said: Why does it appear in that way due to the power of habituation? Manjushri said: All appearances are uncertain, some people's appearances are darkness to others, and so on. In the Sutra of the Ten Bhumis, it says: O sons of the Victorious Ones! These three realms are only mind. So it is. In the Bodhisattvacharyavatara, it says: Who made the iron ground (247) that is burning hot? Where did the fire and so on come from? All such things, the Buddha said, arise from sinful minds. So it is. Maitreya said: Because appearance is one's own mind, even if there is a river without ashes, it will become flowing ashes or turn into nectar. So it is. In the Avatamsaka Sutra, it says: The mind is like a painter, the mind creates the aggregates, as many realms as there are in the world, the mind paints all of them. So it is said. In short, the outer and inner containers and contents, earth, water, fire, wind, and space, land, stones, mountains, and rocks, plants and forests, cliffs, houses, walls, and so on, as well as men and women, gatherings and placements, horses and cattle, enemies and hatred, relatives and love, and so on (248), all phenomena included in appearance and existence are created by one's own mind. Apart from what is created by the mind, there is no independently existing reality outside, this is certain. Therefore, whatever appears is the manifestation of one's own mind, and that itself is illusion and dream. In the past, a king in central India had a strong desire for horses. He implored a good magician to perform a magic trick for the king. The magician showed a horse that had all kinds of advantages, very beautiful. The king asked if he could buy this horse, and the magician said yes. The magician asked for half of the kingdom as the price, and the king agreed without hesitation. Then, another person appeared and said that he was the real owner, and if they wanted to do a real deal,
