For a mother, her own dwelling, or whatever object appears in front of her, one becomes ten, ten becomes a hundred, and so on, increasing continuously, and contemplate that this is a dream. Similarly, to subdue mice, transform yourself into a cat; to subdue birds, transform yourself into a hawk; to subdue dogs, transform yourself into a wolf; a wolf into a tiger; a tiger into a lion. (513) To subdue humans, transform yourself in your mind into rakshasas and so on, increasing them and then chasing them away, or eating them, etc., and think that this is a dream. Similarly, to subdue nagas, transform yourself into a garuda; to subdue kings, transform yourself into Hayagriva; to subdue naga demons and naga spirits, transform yourself into Avalokiteshvara Simhanada; for rakshasas and yakshas, etc., transform yourself in your mind into Vajrapani and so on, increasing them, and then use weapons to cut their bodies into pieces, completely subduing them, and think that they offer their life mantras. Contemplate that all those being subdued and those subduing are mind's appearances, a play of dreams. These practices of training and increasing should be done on the same seat, continuously during practice sessions, and also in all situations of walking, sitting, eating, and drinking, always remembering (514) and repeatedly contemplating. When you realize you are dreaming while sleeping, a beginner should not immediately engage in the effort of training and increasing, but should think: Ah! This is actually a dream, all phenomena are like this. The appearances of dreams are not truly existent, so experiencing happiness and suffering, attachment and hatred, is all one's own delusion. If you can think like this and not fall into the distraction of wakefulness or the distraction of delusion, then clearly visualize yourself as the deity of the yidam you are practicing, and observe whether the face and hands appear clearly. If you can visualize yourself as the deity in a dream, then you plant the seed for achieving the deity's body in the bardo, so it is said that this has great benefit. Niguma says in the "Illusory Path Stages": Once you remember in a dream, the deity's form arises, if it arises for a moment, there is no doubt you have attained victory in the bardo. (515) So it is said. If you can frequently and repeatedly realize that you are dreaming and it becomes somewhat stable, then the dream activities and increasing, etc., that you practiced during the day should also be done at the time you realize you are dreaming, and you should observe how the appearance of the environment is appropriate. After waking up from a dream, there is no difference between the previous dream appearance and the waking appearance. Both are your own mind's appearances, this is the same. The appearance of dreams is a delusion caused by the obscuration of habits by sleep, the state of wakefulness

Manifestation is: the nature of mind, defiled by habitual tendencies since beginningless time, is the illusion of grasping subject and object. The result is also that both produce the function of attachment, aversion, happiness, and suffering, which are the same without any difference. Thinking this way, mix it with all present manifestations and abide. Niguma said: When waking up from sleep, the previous dream ends, and the illusory appearances of waking are meditated on as being no different. This is what she said. The fourth, clear light, is: after the previous practice, immediately visualize the lama Vajradhara as before on the lotus and moon cushion on your own crown. Dissolve the refuge. Meditate that it possesses the four bodies and five wisdoms and is the nature of blessings. Praise and pray as much as possible. Pray to the precious lama to abandon self-grasping. No need... Accomplish clear light... After praying like this, receive the four empowerments or just dissolve them into yourself. Hold the secret place of your own bliss supreme (517) coemergent, clear as before. Visualize the central channel, red, clear, and empty, like a reed inserted, up to the fontanel. In the central channel four fingers below the navel, visualize the essence of your own mind as a white, radiant A, clear and luminous, of the nature of light. Know that the nature of A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) is unborn, and rest in clarity and emptiness, without grasping. Also, between your own brain and skull, visualize a small, selfless white curved knife and a skull holder. From the white A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) at your heart, rays of light radiate, making all the brain invisible, purifying it purely and clearly. The skull is the palace of the conch shell, the nature of light (518), the color is white, shimmering, focus your mind there. Also, in the heart, clear as the coemergent bliss supreme, the lama Vajradhara and the bell and vajra are held crossed at the heart, the color of clear mercury, the nature of bindu, possessing the nature of bliss. From the white Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hūṃ) at his heart, rays of light radiate, making the lama's body clear and luminous. From the lama, rays of light radiate, and visualize yourself abiding in the form of the yidam, clear and luminous, and focus there. Usually, if you can do all three objects of clear light, that is best, if not, do the first and last two, or just focus on the A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A). Transference is: on the crown of your head, clear as the coemergent, a precious jewel supported by a lion
