Sit comfortably. Place your hands in the meditation mudra or in a comfortable position. Keep your back straight. Press your jaw against your throat. Keep your mouth slightly open (673). Lower your gaze to the tip of your nose. Visualize: Yourself as the noble Tara, with an external form, internally thin and transparent, like a frame made of reeds. Visualize the tips of your fingers, up to the tips of your earrings, as thin and transparent tubes. In this state of emptiness, focus your awareness on the area below your navel, like threading a needle, without distraction. This has many benefits, so practice it for a long time. Once you are familiar with this, meditate on the emptiness of the channels. Keep the body posture the same. Within the emptiness of the object of focus, visualize the central channel as thin as the tube of a peeled barley stalk, as clear as a sesame oil lamp, as red as a red lotus flower, as straight as a tree by the water, as slender as a lotus stem, the central channel possessing the four qualities (674), with its upper end piercing the crown of the head and its lower end piercing the secret place. Visualize it gradually increasing in size, as thick as an arrow shaft, as thick as an ubhi grass, as thick as a small bowl. Then, visualize your entire body as the nature of the central channel, thin and transparent, with your awareness completely focused on the area below your navel. In this way, no matter where the wind-energy and mind are held, it will generate the qualities of the central channel without causing any harm. Therefore, the emptiness of the channels is very important. This is a secret instruction that should not be given to students who are not like your own heart. This emptiness itself eliminates obstacles and is an emptiness that quickly generates qualities. Secret! After practicing the channel paths, practice the wind paths. Keep the body posture the same. Exhale three times. Then, keep the lower wind in place. Gently and slowly (675) inhale the upper wind, holding it as long as you can. If you cannot hold it, do not hold it; if you cannot hold it, take a breath and rest a little. Practice in this way, meditating on the single wind a hundred times each day. Maintain conduct and so forth, guarding the vows of tummo. The tummo instructions learned from the lama's mouth: Assume the six-point posture of Vairochana. Visualize at the place where the three channels meet below the navel, on top of a sun disc, the lama naked, with warmth, his fire nature like a red-hot iron that cannot be touched. Then, visualize a hole in the crown of your head, the size of a wheel spoke. From the lama's heart, red light radiates, and the nectar of (Tibetan: ཧཾ,Sanskrit Devanagari: हं,Sanskrit Romanization: haṃ,Literal Chinese meaning: Ham) and zhu zed, white in color like mercury vapor.

When ghee falls into the ra bu (676), it hits the guru's body. Just like ghee poured into a hot iron pot, it burns with a sizzling sound. Visualize the entire body burning as the nature of fire. Focus awareness on the guru who abides in the nature of wisdom fire. By practicing the combined winds, bliss and warmth quickly arise, which is called the guru's tummo. As a component of this practice, it is known from the oral instructions that it is necessary to request the worldly empowerment: On the crown of one's head, visualize the guru Heruka in union with his consort, above a lotus and moon. After praying, rays of light radiate from their heart center, inviting the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, offering the body and possessions, and dissolving into the guru. From the three places (677) of the guru Heruka and his consort, white, red, and blue lights emanate, gradually entering one's own three places, thereby purifying the sins and obscurations of body, speech, and mind. Receiving the blessings of body, speech, and mind. Obtaining the three empowerments. Having the ability to practice the three paths. Then abide in the meaning of the fourth empowerment. Finally, seal it with the dedication. If you practice in this way without interruption, you can restore vows, eliminate obstacles, make progress, and quickly generate qualities, which is the key point. From the oral instructions, the illusory path of disease and demons is known: From the dharma origin below the navel, light radiates from the nostrils, hooking the demons that harm oneself and the diseases caused by them. Entering from the right nostril, it merges into the dharma origin, gathering (678) there. The six types of sentient beings, led by the perpetrator, grasp what is without self as self, and what is without owner as owner, thus becoming hostile demons. Practice compassion towards them and perform the rotation. When they reach the six realms, they remember their previous situation and experience suffering. They regret the harm they have done before. Thinking of not doing it again in the future, they are freed from harmful thoughts. Visualize them as unreal. Afterwards, coming out from the left nostril, make offerings such as water torma, visualizing the purification of karmic debts. Finally, use the wind to drive them beyond the ocean and visualize them as unreal. From the oral instructions, the appearance of objects, etc., is known: Visualize a white Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हूँ, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) in your heart center. From there (679), a light as thin as a thread emanates, visualizing it dissolving into the place or heart you want to see. Before falling asleep, maintain this mind, and dreams will appear.
