Then, taking the instructions as the standard, (616) pray, and whatever arises, let it be, abide without clinging, and practice without distraction. Thus, one naturally knows the ordinary certainty, arises from certainty, and thereby generates faith. Freed from the fault of disbelief, rely on the unwavering river. Fourth, the fault of being too good to be contained in the mind is: although the clarity, emptiness, and bliss of the three bodies naturally arise, because it is too good, thinking that now is not the time for the fruition, it cannot be contained in the mind, and certainty does not arise. Therefore, due to the fault of lacking decisive realization, one wanders in samsara. Now, relying on the scriptural authority of the sutras, tantras, and treatises, determine and generate certainty that this ordinary awareness, which is one's own mind, is the unborn dharmakaya, without bondage or liberation, (617) determine and generate certainty. Thus, freed from the fault of being unable to be contained in the mind, generate decisive certainty. Also, because it is too close, one cannot recognize it; because it is too profound, one cannot grasp it; because it is too easy, one cannot believe it; because it is too good, it cannot be contained in the mind—these are the four faults. Now, relying on devotion and the three aspects of natural abiding, recognize one's own mind as the dharmakaya. Thinking that my preliminary practices have already naturally arisen, thereby grasp it through the path. Practice without distraction, thereby generating faith. Relying on the scriptural authority of the sutras and tantras, determine and generate certainty. Thus, one is freed from the four faults of being unable to be contained in the mind. Third, when abiding in natural arising, nothing whatsoever, such as color or shape, (618) is established. Therefore, the natural arising of the dharmakaya is ultimate. Wisdom is the wisdom of the dharmadhatu. Emptiness arises in various ways, therefore the nirmanakaya is natural arising. Wisdom is like a mirror. The intermediate bliss, the natural arising of the sambhogakaya, is ultimate. Wisdom is discriminating awareness. These three are inseparable in nature, therefore the fruit of great bliss, the natural arising of the four bodies, is ultimate. Wisdom is equality wisdom. The four bodies spontaneously accomplish activities, therefore it is accomplishing wisdom. The part of non-conceptuality within it is the wisdom of suchness; the non-conceptual appearance in various ways is the wisdom of knowing all that exists. Inseparable, therefore it is called the indivisibility of realm and wisdom. (619) That is to say, clarity and emptiness, without clinging, possess the four bodies, five wisdoms, and two knowledges completely. Extracting the essence is: divided into three, the first is decisive certainty.

The arising of the ground is: In the Compendium Sutra, it says, "As long as those roots of virtue are not complete, one will not attain that supreme emptiness." Accumulate merit and say to them, even if the Buddhas of the three times were to descend, nothing more supreme than this could be shown; generate decisive conviction, and remain stunned in the state of clarity and emptiness, without grasping. In crowds and during walking and sitting, generate fervent devotion and remain stunned. The third is immeasurable compassion: For compassion, too, from that very state, all of samsara and nirvana are empty and without self (620); thinking, "I am attached to self and wander in samsara, how pitiful," meditate like this and remain stunned. Then, from "The secret vajra of the preliminary vows" to "Ordinary consciousness, I prostrate to you. The self-arisen great mudra is complete," the vajra verses should be recited. For the dharmata of dharma, recognize self-arising. Generate decisive conviction. Rely on the river of non-distraction. Strive for the two immeasurables. Transform like the waxing moon. The years and months are completed. For the vows, abandon doubt. Mix the deity's clear emptiness with wind. Conceptual thoughts and ignorance will cease. Mix ordinary consciousness with wind. Experience will transform like the waxing moon. (621) Mix the clear light deity with wind. The ultimate fruit will be quickly attained. For the preliminary practice, the main practice, and the subsequent practice, and the initial measure and its stable measure, the main practice's measure and its stable measure, the subsequent measure and its stable measure, ask from the mouth of the holy one. The meaning is, the measure of the preliminary practice is the unfabricated, ordinary consciousness, self-arising. Its stable measure is that it is not stolen by the actions of body and speech. The measure of the main practice is that appearance and mind are inseparable, the self-arising of non-intentionality. Its stable measure is the realm free from samadhi and post-samadhi. The measure of the subsequent practice is that compassion self-arises from the unborn. Its stable measure is that it does not waver from the inseparability of emptiness and compassion. The measure of the fruit is the co-emergent self-arising that transcends mind. When it reaches (622) the ultimate, activity is spontaneously accomplished, self-arising, without partiality. The clear light of day, night, and bardo is united with mother and child. View the three kayas as inseparable, self-arising great. Although it is taught in all the sutras and tantras, what is the nature? Therefore, realize it through the kindness of the guru. Non-intentional, free from all hope and fear, ordinary
