Having taken it, from the arrangement of the vows, the manifestation of all dharmas is the Nirmanakaya. Therein, without conceptualization, is the Dharmakaya. For the sake of bliss free from conceptualization, the Sambhogakaya is complete. This is the teaching of the way to enlightenment. Thus, knowing that all dharmas are clear and without conceptualization is like the first day of the month for the wisdom of the path, and like the full moon on the fifteenth day for the wisdom of the result. In the Vimalakirti Sutra, it says: 'Whoever abides in the supreme Samadhi, that is clear and without conceptualization. Without conceptualization, Salekhyena, is the wisdom of the path and the result, like the first day of the month gradually increasing.' Thus, transforming appearances, deities, the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment, and the two kinds of illusion into the path in sequence, one should know that one has understood all the Sutras and Tantras of the Victorious Ones. After that, one should explain the growth of experience and the five paths and ten bhumis as inseparable from illusion, that is, the nature of the path is the path of Shamatha and Vipassana combined. The definition is: 'Because one desires to go to unsurpassed enlightenment, it is called the path.' The divisions are: the path of accumulation, the path of preparation, the path of seeing, the path of meditation, and the path of culmination. Among these, the nature of the path of accumulation (749) is to abandon evil and adopt virtue. The definition is: 'To accumulate merit for the sake of attaining the nature of Dharma.' The divisions are: small, medium, and large paths of accumulation. Among these, lack of mindfulness and loss of mindfulness are the causes of falling. The Samadhi of the small path of accumulation gives rise to the four applications of mindfulness. In the Bodhicittavashamati Buddhimat Sūtra, it says: 'Buddhimat asked: 'Bhagavan, how should the four applications of mindfulness be practiced?' The Bhagavan replied: 'Buddhimat, if a Bodhisattva contemplates the body in the body, what is the contemplation of the body in the body? Examining the former limit, the latter limit, and the present arising of the body separately, thinking, 'Alas! This body, examined by cause and condition, is impermanent, changing, and like an illusion. One should not grasp this body as 'I'. One should take the essence from this body, which has no essence.' What is the essence? It is to accomplish and attain the body of the Tathagata. That is the application of mindfulness of the body. Buddhimat, in feeling, contemplate feeling.'

What is the mindfulness of feeling? Any feeling is acceptable. One rejoices in pleasant feelings, (750) hates painful feelings, and is ignorant of feelings that are neither. One should train all one's feelings to be like illusions, without inherent existence, and teach the Dharma to cut off the feelings of all sentient beings. Why is that? Because realized feelings are happiness, and unrealized feelings become suffering. Therefore, knowing that all objects, all mental activities, and all things considered as Dharma are like illusions is the mindfulness of feeling. O Good Wisdom! What is the mindfulness of observing mind with mind? Since the mind arises, ceases, and does not remain, the mind that I initially generated and abided in does not exist, and it does not abide anywhere. Therefore, the mind does not see the mind. In this regard, the nature of the mind is like an illusion. Because it is without nature, one should abide in a state free from grasping. That is the mindfulness of mind. O Steadfast Wisdom! What is the mindfulness of observing Dharma with Dharma? Apart from emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, not even a particle (751) of truly established Dharma is seen. Seeing and abiding in that Dharma is seeing the true nature of Dharma, and one does not truly see what is not Dharma. In this regard, the so-called mindfulness is that all the Dharmas taught by the Buddha are merely names. Since names and Dharmas are not found anywhere, either internally or externally, it is boundless and unestablished, which is the mindfulness of Dharma. Furthermore, on the intermediate path of accumulation, in order to regard and abandon evil, non-virtue, and the cause of suffering as poison, one should cultivate the four right abandonments. Steadfast Wisdom asked: How should one cultivate the four right abandonments? The Blessed One replied: Steadfast Wisdom! What are the four paths of a Bodhisattva? To generate desire, strive, exert effort, and hold the mind in order to prevent unarisen evil and non-virtuous Dharmas from arising. To
