Furthermore, the characteristics of the ten grounds are: Transcending the mind, free from extremes, the meaning of illusion. What was not seen before becomes manifest, Because of accomplishing the meaning, joy arises, Therefore, it is the Utterly Joyful Ground. The aggregates of the three confusions of body, speech, and mind, Are understood as illusion because they are unborn. Because the discipline is free from the fault of defilement, It is called the Stainless Ground. All phenomena of appearance and sound, Appear clearly and without grasping, like an illusion. Because of the power of wisdom, light shines, Therefore, it is called the Illuminating Ground. That clear, luminous, and ungrasping light, Its own nature is also unestablished, it is illusion. Because it radiates light that burns afflictions, It is called the Blazing Wisdom Ground. All the objects of abandonment and the antidotes (726) of true clinging, All become illusions without true existence. Because of taming the difficult-to-tame afflictions, This is called the Difficult to Conquer Ground. All phenomena such as samsara and nirvana, Are undifferentiated, free from extremes, they are illusion. Because the abiding nature becomes manifest, It is called the Manifest Ground. Phenomena are illusory and without true existence, With objectless compassion, one accomplishes all meanings. Because one is far from the Hearers and Solitary Realizers, Therefore, it is called the Far-Reaching Ground. Illusion, transcending the mind, without effort, In the great spontaneously accomplished and self-arisen state, Because afflictions cannot disturb it, It is called the Immovable Ground. As long as one grasps at phenomena as real, They are liberated into illusion itself. Because intelligence is vast and unobstructed, It is called the Good Intelligence Ground. The union of the two accumulations through illusion, One gains power over activities, In the sky of the Dharmakaya, the clouds of wisdom, Because it pervades, it is called the Cloud of Dharma Ground. The ten grounds are the ten perfections. The order of which subdues which is: The first, generosity is the main one and is complete, The remaining ones are accomplished as much as possible. The second is the perfection of discipline, The third is with patience, The fourth is the perfection of diligence, The fifth is with meditation, The sixth is the perfection of wisdom, The seventh is skillful means, The eighth is the perfection of aspiration (727), The ninth is with strength, The tenth is the perfection of wisdom. Thus, the characteristics of the ten perfections, Are explained without error. For the sake of seeking wisdom, towards sentient beings, The root of virtue of emptiness is generosity, All the poisonous afflictions, For the sake of pacifying them, it is discipline, With love and compassion towards sentient beings, Without anger, it is patience.

Alas! In seeking virtuous dharmas, diligence is to be diligent with unwearying effort. In manifesting the wisdom of knowledge, meditation is to have a mind free from regret. By nature, it is unborn; when manifested, it is wisdom. Accomplishing the immeasurable wisdom of the Victorious Ones, what is done is skillful means. Because it transforms from wisdom, manifest accomplishment is aspiration. The attacks of others and the hordes of demons, not cutting off the path is strength. This understanding of dharmas as they are, is considered the perfection of wisdom. For Bodhisattvas who become Buddhas, there are ten and eleven grounds. One should know what the obscurations are of the twenty-two kinds of ignorance. What causes ignorance is clinging. Therefore, for the dharmas of the grounds, having completely abandoned any clinging, realize non-clinging as illusion. If even just illusion, clinging arises, then that too should be abandoned. Transcending illusion's existence and non-existence, abandonment and attainment, negation and affirmation, are naturally liberated. Any clinging is conventional truth; non-clinging is self-liberated, beyond thought. Therefore, all the dharmas of the grounds, becoming accustomed to non-clinging, purify obscurations. The stages of self-arisen realization, and signs will appear in sequence. By realizing the meaning of self-arisen illusion, the three spheres are completely purified, and the effort of generosity increases. Day and night, at all times, self-arising occurs like an illusion. That too is the illusion of the Dharmadhatu, realized as the meaning of all-pervading. There are one hundred and twelve kinds of clear appearances. The outer and inner signs are as before. For the stainless one, illusion and, divine form are without attachment, it is the stainless body. Coming and going, existence and non-existence, are beyond thought. That itself is the supreme of habitual stability, the self-arisen illusion of the Dharmadhatu itself, realized as the supreme meaning. The signs, whether day or night, in an instant, a moment, a short while, samadhi power's equipoise etc., should be known to be twelve thousand. Light shining is luminosity and, divine form and great bliss are inseparable. At the time of light and dreams, for the sake of taming immeasurable beings, inconceivable divine bodies, self-arise (729) filling space, proclaiming the sound of Dharma. In the Dharmadhatu, all dharmas, realize the meanings of the same cause. Samadhi, hundreds and thousands of equipoise etc., should be known to be hundreds and thousands.
