Ah (exclamation)! This is a debate of yes and no. Lost are the closeness and distance of self and other, and partiality. The all-pervading, clear and empty great light. When it slightly dawns in the mirror of self-awareness, For the analysis and explanation of words, terms, and phrases, One gains the confidence of when it is needed and when it arrives. Not just one knowledgeable master (357), Why turn a fool into a wise person? You are not just one blessed person, Why show the self-nature of being liberated at birth? Now, even if the Buddhas of the three times were to come, Because there is no need for correction, Wisdom and mindfulness arise spontaneously in the sky, Walking like birds flying through the sky without a trace. Even if one meditates, it is only the father's self-appearance. In the yoga without interruption, Abiding in openness and clarity, You yourself know whether to elevate or degrade. Even if the melody of the supplication is pleasant, Because one acts with a hesitant attitude, Looking outward, like the song of a prostitute, Can it move the heart of the ignorant? For the empty talk of endless chatter, (358) The formless gods and demons tremble in their hearts. For the great call of remembering the father, Why do you not show compassion from the Dharmadhatu? For the son who considers the father as his own and himself as the father's son, Brothers and friends whose minds are intertwined, Because there is no place to rely on or hope for, May you complete your own biography! A song sung with the single-pointed devotion of remembering as the path-perfecting Guru Yoga and the supporting Dharma that follows, the end. For the vast meditation where there is no need to seek other refuge, I take refuge with unwavering mind. Father, the incomparable Guru, Turn the mind of me, your only son, towards the Dharma. Having fully undertaken the actions and thoughts of the mundane world, The body pretends to be a monk, but the mind feels ashamed. One who takes the name of a practitioner but denies it, (359) Chief of the Gurus, please look upon me with compassion. Even knowing the true nature of samsara, The mind is distracted, engaging in unnecessary behaviors. The heart is depressed, but the body delays going to practice in the mountains. Is this considered abandonment? Please see with your wisdom. For the stubborn posture of a resolute character, Immediately expose all hypocrisy. For the deceived who are deceived by themselves, Father, do you not shed tears of compassion? For the false person who pretends to understand the Dharma, The comfortable little person, For the meaningless actions that are like mere words, The father's heart endures.
