That is the secret empowerment. Then, say this: Secret Consort Vajra Dakini, emanates the goddess and entrusts her to the disciple, filled with the bliss of meditative absorption, inseparable from skillful means and wisdom. In order to tame, may she manifest limitless divine forms, to benefit sentient beings. Recite the root mantra, and instruct them to meditate on its meaning. That is the empowerment of wisdom and prajna. Instruct them to meditate on the meaning of the Great Seal, this self-aware naked seeing that is free from the extremes of elaboration (536), uniting with the expanse of space, the realm of dharma. By bestowing empowerment upon the fortunate son of the lineage, may he be completely liberated from the suffering of the six realms of samsara due to ignorance, and from the five poisons of delusion and conceptualization, and may he attain the supreme state of the embodiment of all three refuges. Om dhāre dhāre dhārā bhate svāhā. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་དྷ་རེ་དྷ་རེ་དྷ་ར་་བྷ་ཏེ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओṃ धारे धारे धारा भते स्वाहा, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ dhāre dhāre dhārā bhate svāhā, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, holder, holder, holder, Bhate, Svaha.) Thus, scatter flowers. If you wish to elaborate, recite the "Auspicious Prayer of the Kagyü." If you wish to abbreviate, recite one verse such as "Good Day." The blessing of the torma is: Hold it on your head, and visualize this torma as being inseparable from the Lama Protector, surrounded by a gathering of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas (537). Come to your own head. From the body of the Lama Protector, inseparable, emanate countless subtle forms, and visualize them dissolving into your bodies. Pray that the glorious, swift-acting Wisdom Protector, the green Lord of Life, and the various Dakini retinues, along with hundreds of thousands of millions of Dakini hosts, like the White Protector, accomplish activities without obstruction, and especially protect and avert all obstacles that harm life, and grant the attainment of the deathless Vajra Life. Thus, perform the blessing with music. Then, the transmission of the mantra recitation is: From the heart of the Lama Protector (538), inseparable, emanates a multitude of mantra rosaries. Visualize them dissolving into your hearts, and repeat after me. The heart mantra three times. While scattering flowers to the teacher, repeat after me. I beseech the Blessed One to grant me, please initiate me. Again, bless the flowers to become mantra rosaries, and scatter them upon you, visualize the mantra as having power and potency. I beseech the Blessed One to grant this, please initiate this one.

The chapter on the practice of the Green Protector, Lord of Life. Mangalam! Om Swasti (Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ स्वस्ति, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ svasti, Chinese literal meaning: Om, auspicious!). Root lineage lama, Vajradhara, appearing as the body of Wisdom Protector, having prostrated at the lotus feet, I will explain the subsequent permission of the inseparable lama and protector. In a secluded place, the ground is swept clean. Arrange the objects of refuge, especially the painted image of the Protector. On the ground, which has been anointed with fragrant water, draw a square grid of appropriate size. Between the two, make it black (540) and draw a charnel ground. Inside that, draw two circles. Between the circles and the square, make the east white, south yellow, west red, and north green, and between one circle, make it blue. Inside the circle, make it green, and in the center, draw a dark blue triangular Dharma source with a mountain of fire, and in the center, mark it with the syllable Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hūṃ) or the center of a curved knife with the syllable Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hūṃ). On top of that, on a stand, place a torma made from raw black barley, a three-cornered food offering with the edge surrounded by inverted ཐེབ་ཀྱུ, adorned with ornaments, and stick an arrow, banner, mirror, and a tsakli of the Protector. Surround it with offerings and tormas, eye offerings, and various items. First, bless the torma, and begin with the deity's visualization and recitation. The method of generating the front visualization is as explained in the context of Eradicating All Great Obstacles. Especially before the supplication, on the crown of the Protector's head, visualize the kind (541) root lama, with a golden body, possessing the splendor of a hundred thousand suns. The right hand holds a wish-fulfilling jewel at the heart, and the left hand rests a golden bell on the hip. He sits in the vajra posture, adorned with all ornaments. Beginning with Vajradhara, he is the essence of all lineage lamas. Light radiates from the lama's body. The Protector dances with a humming and tinkling sound in the nature of light and bliss. Light radiates from the Protector's body and dissolves into the lama's body, the lama becomes light and bliss.
