One appeared. Then, on the evening of the eighth day of the Horse Month (fifth month in the Tibetan calendar), due to the offerings made by the sons of gods and many dakinis, a great and powerful light arose, and in the space between sleep and dreams, the non-conceptual clear lamp was found. The songs such as "..." were also sung at that time. At that time, everything that was happening inside and outside Lha phu was seen. Afterwards, it grew bigger and bigger, spreading wider and wider, until one clear autumn day, when I went to the side of the rock, I experienced a state where there was no distinction between day and night. When I transformed into water, a shepherd saw me transform into water. When I transformed into fire, a beggar saw me. Afterwards, although I became the great power of the four destructions, the clear appearances of blue, yellow, and so on, spread out, and I saw many Buddha lands. In the Bhadracarya-pranidhana it says: "On one atom are Buddhas countless as atoms." I thought, "The activity also abides in this very place." Also, one day when I went on top of the rock, the good experience of illusion was that bees and the retinue of Jetsun Dakinis in the sky (page 195) were dancing around, and through the power of those two, I was also able to sit in vajra posture in the sky by the side of the rock. That was also seen by the shepherd and many girls. Among them, sixteen beloved daughters of the wealthy family of Lha phu offered a lot of tsampa, meat, butter, woolen cloth, and so on. They requested blessings and left. On the side of the rock, I saw nothing but tsampa, meat, and butter. Then, eleven days later, the old wealthy man Shugpa Bhumme from Shangs came and said, "Rinchen Tsondru, you have stayed in this rock for twelve years without seeing tsampa with your eyes. Now you have attained accomplishment and are able to sit in vajra posture in the sky." Now I am old and about to die, so I need to do a tsok offering, and you must come no matter what. I said, "I will not be the teacher for your tsok offering and dharma wheel, please ask someone else." He said, "If you don't come, I will die here," and came at me with a knife to my heart (page 196). I said, "Since you have gone that far, I will come, but I will only stay for three days." Then he came leading a horse, and also poison.

Then, I took that scripture bag and left. There, a large market had gathered. He built a high Dharma seat and spread many cloths on it. He made great offerings of horses, livestock, butter, barley, and cloths, etc. Then he said, "Master Rinchen Tsondru, you have been meditating in a cave for twelve years since last year without seeing tsampa with your eyes, and you have attained accomplishment. On this occasion today, do not speak of the words of the lama, nor what is said in the sutras and tantras, but speak a Dharma from your experience of meditating in a cave for twelve years." So, I first spoke of the ease of abiding, the toil of diligence, transforming illusion into the path, and reaching the cliff of emptiness, taking these four points as the basis for explanation. That herdsman and the entire market were convinced. The next day, everyone (197) came to make offerings. After teaching the Dharma for twenty-one days, merchants and customers gathered, saddles were piled up, and there were many offerings of gold, silver, silk, etc. I said to that herdsman, "All the wealth you have received from the offerings, do not mix them up, do not leave out even one." He said, "You have not seen tsampa with your eyes for twelve years since last year, so what you say is true. Now there is no need to be so attached to conditions. You are the kind of person who can turn people into gold, so there is no need to worry about the exhaustion of wealth, nor to worry about starving to death." Then I collected all the offerings and said to the patrons, "Those who offer to me will gain merit. Now the things you offer may be left out, so do not make mistakes, take them away. What do I do with wealth? What can wealth do to me? What is the use of reversing the two?" Having said that, I took three handfuls of tsampa and a book, and went back to the cave. After that, many monks came to ordain and seek the Dharma. Many teachings of Lama Rahula, (198) Jowo Je (Atiśa), Lama Burgompa, and Lama Lhaje were taught, and good virtue arose. Because the lama was good and I was narrow-minded, I did not say many things that needed to correct my mind. Now it is not yet time to leave, worldly affairs have not ended, and I am always busy, and life has passed in this way.
