While practicing Dharma and staying in retreat at Rigong, one night I dreamed that many Mongols came and fled. There was a piece of gold for Dharma practice, and they coveted it, making it rough and unsightly. Upon waking up, I should have remembered the dream, but I didn't. Thinking that even this little bit (542) would be a hindrance, the next morning I prepared a lot of tea for the gathering at the Dharma assembly. I offered half a tael of gold to Rinpoche. I gave some to those who needed support for Dharma practice. I arranged a small Tsog offering in front of Rinpoche. When I was reciting the prayer of guided steps alone, Rinpoche looked at the sky and prostrated repeatedly. I also experienced an inconceivable influx of blessings. There I said, "You value it very much, and the blessings are great." Rinpoche asked, "What is the reason for the great blessings?" I told him the truth, and he said, "Today the Kagyu lamas have come." After that, "I pray to you, the supreme son of the root and lineage lamas, incomparable." "In the solitary mountain hermitage of Tingbu Wang region, the mind and the sky become one, and the all-knowing one accepts the sound of prayer." The meaning of this is: From the mouth came these words: "The intention to go south alone (543) was decided, so I went to Tingpo Drak Monastery. There, the attendant Khampa passed away, abandoning all possessions, and while in retreat, he fell asleep at night, and there was no appearance of the body, the sky and the mind merged into one, and while abiding in unwavering practice, he saw all gross and subtle things, and felt acceptance and joy in the sound of prayers from faithful people." I also heard many teachings about the purity and experiences of meditation, but did not write them down. For the unchanging reality, I pray to your clear light mind, the stable Samadhi that is free from coming and going. You, at the dawn of awakening, within various inconceivable bindus, manifest the body of loving-kindness, appearing as immeasurable forms, I pray that the appearance arises as a deity.

He said that was the extent of the experiential appearance. Even for me, when I wake up at dawn, at that time when the channels are empty and the wind is clear, none of these obstructive things appear, but within a space that is filled with countless bindus, there are countless deity forms crowded together, including those with the hand gestures of Maitreya proclaiming the Dharma. He said that all of that appears in a way that is neither slow nor rushed. Those who are always led by the nose count "Au." I have no refutation or affirmation. In essence, from the purification of ordinary dualistic grasping, I pray to you, the great accomplished one, in whom the appearance of the two bodies in union, the illusory, luminous deity form, arises. In the assembly of great meditators, you are the master of all experiences and realizations. In the midst of the wise, you have become a lion of speech. Peerless, the supreme jewel on the crown of the head, I pray to you, the holder of the victory banner of the teachings. Thus, this glorious and precious lama, (545) the wisdom of having studied extensively, the discipline unblemished by misdeeds, the experience and realization of having diligently meditated, the hero who has overcome adverse conditions, the skillful means of combining intelligence with meaning, and so on, have already been extensively described above. Since his qualities as a scholar, a monk, and a meditator are unparalleled, I pray to you, the holder of the victory banner of the precious teachings. If one becomes connected, it will not become meaningless, If one prays, it will lead to the splendor of realization. The only virtuous friend who holds me close, I pray to you, the incomparable kindness. This is, the Dharma Lord Rinpoche himself. Because the two accumulations previously gathered are full, no matter how many or few people gather before him, Dharma, food, and clothing arise effortlessly. Even in uninhabited places, auspicious coincidences arise naturally. And for all faithful patrons, they will not burn their own heads in this life (546), but will certainly have the unfailing cause and effect that benefits the next life, he always said. Having seen his holy form and received blessings, even offering just a small bowl of tsampa can establish a good karmic connection. Just hearing his words generates faith and certainty in the Dharma. If one prays with heartfelt devotion, one will attain the splendor of realization; these are proven by what one experiences in one's own and others' perceptions. Thus, for those who have devotion to the teachings through seeing and hearing, he gazes upon them with compassion.
