I extensively developed the view of the Kadampa school. After practicing asceticism, I also remembered the kindness (of my teacher), wearing a worn-out robe and carrying a triple-knotted Khata as an offering, wondering if I would be rebuked or not, I went to meet him. Seeing that the attendant had laid out a single, simple cushion, (the teacher) said, "He is the tattered remnant of a Geshe (dge bshes, spiritual friend). Spread out a better cushion." He spoke many pleasing words. After that, it was said that he had gone to the Labrang (bla brang, monastery) to make tsampa (gro), (the teacher) said, "We are mendicant monks, bring the tsampa and tea here." He instructed, "You are doing a lot of asceticism." (The teacher said,) "It is difficult to restore this worn-out body of asceticism to its original state later. Relying on the asceticism of poverty, even if the illusory body is destroyed, it is easy to recover with a mouthful of tsampa, so that is better." (The teacher also said,) "When practicing single-pointedly, it is easy to recognize the obstacles of unfavorable factors (526), and it is also easy to eliminate them by hitting the key point. It is difficult to recognize the obstacles of favorable factors, and it is also difficult to abandon them, so do not be controlled by them, and do not let the upper and lower parts of the body become too long. You must thoroughly complete the practice of renunciation." He gave many instructions. It is said that this was very helpful for my determination and renunciation. It is said that for every Dharma I received, for every experience that arose, there was a corresponding effort. Therefore, body and mind were closely connected. Lama Khams Chenpo said that most of (what I did) was the key to eliminating obstacles in the mindstream of the Lamdre (lam 'bras, Path with its Result) and the practice. It is said that the understanding of the tantras and instructions and the liberation of wisdom were because at the top of Tralungpa Shang (bkras lung pa shangs), I directly saw the mandala of Jetsun Drolma (Tara), and saw the face of Jetsunma in the straw of the skull-cup wine, possessing many qualities of experiential realization, this was the blessing (of the teacher). It is said that relying on the compassion (527) and blessing of Dharma Lord Sangye Tonpa (sangs rgyas ston pa), the kindness was very great, and that has been said. Even without a Dharma connection, in Lhasa, there was a Dakini, a disciple of Marpa (mar pa), named Majo Denma (ma jo gdan ma), who had unobstructed clairvoyance, (she) directly gave a very good prophecy to Rinpoche (rin po che, precious one, referring to the author). In this way, the intentions, qualities, and blessings of the Lamas were fulfilled, and their minds and hearts merged inseparably with the Dharmakaya, becoming one with the Victorious One (rgyal ba, victorious one, title of a Buddha).

Through the activities of the mothers, I pray to you, the holder of the regency. Unable to bear the suffering of beings with compassion, not attached to your own happiness, diligently practicing pervades the Dharmakaya, I pray to the one who merges day and night equally. The meaning of this is that while practicing virtue in the secluded mountains of Jadpu, he saw many Mongol soldiers passing by and felt unbearable pain in his heart, so he sent someone to check the situation. It turned out that the army was stationed in the area of Dbumar Chak. Hearing that the Drikung lineage was prosperous, and that the Sakya and Drikung were the two largest monastic orders, they fought each other, resulting in many negative actions. Remembering the lifespan, body, and intense suffering of the three lower realms, he practiced Bodhicitta sleeplessly. Abandoning his own happiness in this life and the desire for peace in the next, he practiced with unbearable great compassion and unwavering diligence, resulting in great benefit for the Mahamudra with the essence of compassion. In the inn of Jad Nyima Zhur Chung, he sucked the pus and blood from the festering foot of a leper, which helped him greatly. I myself also made great progress in compassion and Bodhicitta practice. During the great famine of the Sheep year, he thought of practicing in Kharek Kar Tsi Chen, so he set out carrying a full bag of tsampa. On the way, he saw two old beggars without food or alms-givers, very thin and suffering. He felt unbearable great compassion and gave them all the tsampa. That summer, he cut off his daily supplies and worked hard at his practice, resulting in good health and great progress. He gained certainty in the instructions. He lived for a long time in an environment where day and night were equally merged. These environments were the main ones. Later, he went to Yulri, Samdingpa, Zambulung, and Sinpo Dondrup to practice in virtuous environments, and realization was the main thing, he said. He said to the monk Tarpa Pal of Yulri, "You should not be lazy, you should go." Afterwards, on the way back, he did a retreat, and I felt that this vision was the self-light of the mind.
