38. Meditate and practice on the image between yourself and the mirror. Then, view yourself as indistinguishable from the image in the mirror, train the mind to see all things as illusory with sixteen similes, and abandon clinging. Second, train the pure illusory body as illusory, which includes the generation stage illusion and the completion stage illusion. First, the generation stage illusion: 'By the secret empowerment, at all times, on a stainless mirror, draw Vajrasattva well, its image is like appearance.' Therefore, allow a painted image of Vajrasattva or any chosen deity to appear in the mirror in a tilted or reversed manner. Without changing the eyes and consciousness, look at its image and contemplate its state in your mind so that it appears. Meditate between the mirror and yourself. Then, contemplate yourself as the deity image in the mirror, and if it appears almost tangible, then contemplate the single form you see as such a deity body. If it is clear, then clarify all the forms you see as such a chosen deity, so that all appearances appear as the play of the deity, which is called the suchness of the deity, that is, the generation stage illusion, and the phenomena are pure as deities and goddesses. Second, the completion stage illusion: 'This is the cause of omniscient wisdom, it is close to achieving definite entry.' That is, the seven-point posture of Vairochana, the mind does not judge the past, does not welcome the future, does not fabricate the present, and focuses single-pointedly on the empty space without distraction. The winds enter the central channel, and the thoughts subside. The five signs such as smoke appear, especially in the cloudless sky, the appearance of the Buddha's body is clear and unobscured like the moon in water or the image in a mirror, and the emanation body with marks and signs is seen, and then the enjoyment body appears as sound. As Aryadeva said: 'All phenomena are like dreams and illusions, all Buddhas say so, but because one's own blessings turn outward, one does not see dreams and illusions.' Third, train all phenomena included in the two accumulations as illusions: 'The causes and non-causes of the three realms, all are accomplished without exception.' That is, stabilize the samadhi, and introduce the view of emptiness onto the appearance of subsequent awareness. After contemplating, all phenomena that appear as dualistic, such as samsara and nirvana, appear as non-dual wisdom, the illusory samadhi of conventional truth. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By abiding in that very nature, it will become clear as luminosity. Dreams Third, regarding dreams: there are four aspects: seizing, purifying, training in illusion, and meditating on the suchness of dreams. First, seizing dreams is threefold: seizing through the power of aspiration, seizing through the power of wind, and seizing through the power of focus. First, seizing through the power of aspiration means 'first seize the dream,' which means maintaining continuous mindfulness and following aspiration. That is, in all situations during the day, one should remember 'this is a dream, I need to practice,' and at night before sleeping, pray to the lama to seize the dream, and strongly cultivate in the mind the aspiration 'I must seize the dream,' and one will definitely be able to seize it. Because all phenomena are dependent on conditions, abide at the peak of aspiration. Second, seizing through the power of wind means lying down on the right side, sleeping in the lion posture, pressing the pulsating artery of the throat with the thumb and forefinger of the right hand, tightly blocking the nose with a finger, and swallowing saliva into the throat. Third, seizing through the power of focus has three aspects: actual, expedient, and cutting off distractions. The actual is: visualizing oneself as the deity, visualizing a clear red 'AH' (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Literal Meaning: unborn) at the center of the throat, the essence of speech vajra, and its light illuminates all appearances like reflections in a mirror, meditating that appearances are illusory without inherent existence, and one will be able to seize the dream. The expedient is: in the evening, seize the dream with the same focus as yesterday. In the morning, do seven vase breaths, and silently recite eleven times 'I must seize the dream,' and focus the mind on the white bone marrow bindu at the eyebrow center. If there is more blood, visualize it as red; if there is more wind, visualize it as green. If this does not seize the dream, in the evening, meditate in the same way. In the morning, do twenty-one wind practices, and also recite the aspiration twenty-one times, and focus awareness on a small black dot at the tip of the secret place, and one will be able to seize the dream. Cutting off distractions: waking distraction is when, even though the dream is seized, one immediately wakes up thinking 'I need to practice.' For this, one should consume nutritious food and do work that tires the body, which will increase sleep. This will eliminate the distraction. Immersed distraction is when, even though one knows it is a dream, one is constantly immersed in it and does not want to change it. For this, one should repeatedly meditate on that dream, strive to think 'now I will practice the dream,' and combine the bindu at the eyebrow center with wind practice. Suffering distraction is when one has many dreams, but because one has not remembered them before, one cannot seize them. For this, one should avoid unclean things and unclean eyes, receive empowerment, and focus awareness on the secret place. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
