Showing the coming of transformation. Life is short, most people die suddenly. Are you attached to the eternal self, Padma Kar? If you sincerely practice Dharma, now is the time. The body is in its youth, but cannot last forever. Life is as fragile as a dewdrop, not to be relied upon. Are you easily deceived by external paths, Padma Kar? If you think of the next life, now is the time. Many friends gather, but will eventually separate. No matter how much wealth is accumulated, no one can take it away. Can you find something to rely on, Padma Kar? If you give up the desire to compete, now is the time. Day and night alternate, time passes. When energy is exhausted and old age approaches. Can the four elements still support your body, Padma Kar? If you start practicing diligently now, now is the time. When the body is attacked by the disease of death. Hopes for worldly affairs will be shattered. Will you see the end of regret, Padma Kar? If you seek ultimate liberation, now is the time. The mind does not want to endure the suffering of the three realms. But is unwilling to stop creating negative karma. Is your mind blinded, Padma Kar? If not, now is the time to purify sins. The mind is full of confusion, unable to distinguish truth from falsehood. Always enduring endless suffering. Are you tired of it, Padma Kar? If you want to escape this cycle, now is the time. Now that I think about it, the actions of this life. Whether completed or not, are meaningless. Isn't it harming oneself and others, Padma Kar? If you want to cut off this endless entanglement, now is the time. Thinking repeatedly, the current plans. Isn't it forgetting the most important thing? Think carefully, measure carefully, Padma Kar. In a quiet place, tame your own mind, now is the time. This is from the precious Tantra called 'De-vi-ko-ti-yi-nno', also known as Lho-brag mkhar-chu by the public. In this valley where heroes and heroines gather like clouds, on the top of this wonderfully magnificent mountain, in this land of gathered jewels, in this delightful hall, I sing this moving song. The past Dharma King Trisong Detsen (chos rgyal mes dbon) and Guru Padmasambhava (padma 'byung), and countless great accomplished ones. Have repeatedly blessed and protected this place. This is the border between the auspicious land of Mon (g.yang chags mon) and Tibet, the confluence of Sa-khol byung-kho (sa khol byung mkho) and Thang-kho (mthing). This is a forest of lush trees, a paradise for fierce beasts. In this steep cliff, a mountain towering like a weapon, surrounded by swirling clouds. This unexplored, yet delightful rock of Khar-chu. Is a sacred place where heroes and heroines gather. In this cemetery that is pure from the beginning. I, the yogi of Tibet, Padma Kar (padma dkar). Sing this song to dispel sorrow. In the east of Tibet, the treasure land that fulfills all wishes. It is a place to enjoy nectar and cut off the cycle of rebirth. It is a place to open the door to liberation. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Though born, I am not attached to my homeland, I regard this land as my eternal home. Wherever I am, I feel at ease, I regard loving parents as objects of attachment, Though they are things I care about in my heart, I have no love or attachment, I regard the qualified lama as my parents, Now I only wish to pray to the lama. I regard close friends and relatives as things needed in this world, Though they are the best treasures needed in this life, I do not generate greed or hatred, I regard contentment as eternal wealth, Now there is no need to calculate what is or is not. For all the teachings that should be learned, one should study diligently, Be sure to determine the truth without error, But I do not pursue names and forms, I regard the Dharma as an obstacle to the path, No matter how I act, it becomes practice. Place the body in a solitary place, Strive to tame your mind with mindfulness, But I am not familiar with the clinging mind, I regard ordinary consciousness as meditation, Now there is no need to measure whether it is reasonable. The thoughts that appear in the six senses, Although one should not abandon other Buddhadharmas, I am unwilling to face any appearance, I regard all appearances as emptiness, There is no need to untie the knots of acceptance and rejection. Death and annihilation, etc., adverse conditions, Although I do not want to encounter them, I do not seek anything other than karma, I regard adversity as the best favorable condition, Now hope and fear have disappeared. Alala, the joy of a yogi! Happy and free, Three Jewels (དཀོན་མཆོག་གསུམ།,triratna, triratna,Three Jewels)! Alas, my life is like a candle in the wind, I don't even have the certainty of staying for a moment, But I still vainly hope to stay for a long time, this rotten heart! When the Lord of Death (འཆི་བདག,chībdag, yama,Yama) demon (བདུད,bdud,māra,Māra) destroys, won't you regret it? For the karmic results of suffering and happiness, good and evil, I deliberately cling to love and hate, this rotten heart that always expects enemies and friends! If you wander in samsara forever, won't you regret it? The human body is the ladder to heaven and the evil realms, When you can use it as you please, you are lazy and懈怠, Choosing to fall into the abyss of the evil realms, this rotten heart! When you go from this life to the next, won't you regret it? In this prison that has been trapped since beginningless time, Even if you only experience suffering, you still look forward to happiness, this rotten heart! If you die in repeated hardships, won't you regret it? The remnants of karma that the predecessors did not complete -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ཐོང་ཤིང་། ། 20-353
