Visualize the external abode as a mandala, and all sentient beings within as Amitāyus (Tshe dpag med). Gather all their life essence and dissolve it into the Hrīḥ (藏文:ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:seed syllable) and the vase. Visualize a stream of nectar descending from the Hrīḥ (藏文:ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:seed syllable) at your heart and from the vase in your hands, entering through the Brahma aperture, filling the central channel and the entire body. The essence dissolves into the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:seed syllable) at your heart, pacifying the fear of untimely death and attaining the accomplishment of immortal life. Contemplate this and engage in the retention of life. Recite the life-essence mantra. Finally, the Lama Amitāyus dissolves into light and merges into the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:seed syllable) at your heart, and the consort dissolves into light and merges into the A (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:seed syllable) at your navel. Visualize the upper end of the central channel blocked by various vajras and red and black Kṣa (藏文:ཀྵ,梵文天城体:क्ष,梵文罗马拟音:kṣa,汉语字面意思:seed syllable) syllables, and rest in equanimity. Meditate on this for three sessions a day, each session consisting of one hundred wind practices. You will become proficient in three or seven days. The signs are itching, heat, swelling, bleeding, or discharge of pus from the crown of the head. If these occur, it indicates purification. Thereafter, it is sufficient to simply not forget the practice. If purification becomes excessive and you fear obstacles to transference, visualize your body as a black stupa, with your head firmly at the top, and within the top, visualize the essence of your mind as a red bindu. Focusing on this will bring peace. Second, application to practice: From 'When signs of death arise, be joyful and relinquish attachment' to 'discarded from the path' is explained. If afflicted by severe illness, etc., or if the wind channel flows from either the left or right side for five days, death will occur within three years; for ten days, within two years; for twenty days, within one year; for twenty-five days, within six months; for twenty-nine days, within one month. These are internal signs of death. For external signs of death such as illness, remedies such as medicine can be taken. In particular, for hot diseases, visualize the nature of the throat chakra as the Lama, in the form of a crystal stupa. Similarly, for cold diseases, visualize the Lama at the heart chakra as a ruby stupa. For phlegm diseases, visualize the navel chakra as a golden stupa. For combined diseases, visualize the crown chakra as a wind stupa. Combine this with wind practice and descend the nectar that becomes the antidote to the disease. At the heart, the place of water, visualize Padma Heruka and Dum Can Ma, whose nature is fire. At the throat, the place of fire, visualize Vajra Heruka and Lama, whose nature is water. At the crown, the place of wind, visualize Ranta Heruka and Gzugs Can Ma, whose nature is earth. At the navel, the place of earth, visualize Buddha Heruka and Dakini, whose nature is wind. Visualize these forms and necessities, and descend the nectar that becomes the antidote to each element, filling the body with the combined wind practice. Whether it is a hot or cold disease, you can eliminate the obstacles to tummo. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Practice meditation accordingly, and the methods for averting internal and secret signs of death should be done as explained in other scriptures such as the 'Vinaya Sutra'. Even if this cannot be avoided, and death is certain, one should rejoice, thinking of going to the pure realm of the Dakinis, completely severing attachment to this life, generating extensive Bodhicitta, and making aspirations. With the seven-point posture, or if unable, in the lion posture, think of the pure realm or the abode of Vidyadharas, and strongly desire to be born there. Then, in emptiness, visualize the central channel, and at the crown of the head, visualize the syllable (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum) and the syllable (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:Ah) and the Guru as before, pray, and merge the wind and mind into the syllable (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum) and the syllable (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:Ah). The syllable (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum) goes upwards like an arrow, eliminating the syllable (藏文:ཀ,梵文天城体:क,梵文罗马拟音:ka,汉语字面意思:Ka), and is absorbed into the syllable (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum) at the Guru's heart, repeatedly. The Guru's heart and one's own mind merge inseparably, and the stream of life, like a thread, is thought to be completely severed, and the Guru goes like an arrow to the pure realm or the abode of Vidyadharas, whichever is desired. Second, transference with elaboration to the Form Body: To counteract attachment to the ordinary body, visualize the deity; to counteract attachment to ordinary speech, recite the mantra of the deity; to counteract attachment to the ordinary mind, know that all appearances are appearance-emptiness, all sounds are sound-emptiness, all thoughts of the mind are clear-emptiness, and all phenomena encompassed by Samsara and Nirvana are merely illusion. With inhalation, gather the appearance of the deity; with exhalation, the mind abides in the syllable (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum), then transforms into Chakrasamvara or Vajrayogini, and goes to the desired place. Third, transference without elaboration to the Dharmakaya: When death approaches and the signs of the dissolution of the elements appear, not fixating on the three spheres of the transferrer, the transferred, etc., one rests on the unerring view of emptiness, without a rester or a rested upon. Fourth, the result of transference: Transference to the Dharmakaya Guru's Buddha-field. The Dharmakaya is transference to clear light, the Guru is transference to the pure illusory body, and the Buddha-field is transference to the Nirmanakaya. Therefore, even one transference has these results, which is due to the power of purification. Sixth, entering a corpse like a snake shedding its skin: In particular, entering a corpse like a snake shedding its skin, etc. Consciousness transfers from the city of one's own body and enters another's dead body that has not deteriorated. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
