It is called 'clear light' because it appears as accomplishment. Mixing the path and nature as one during the day. There are three aspects to engaging in this path: mixing the path and nature as one during the day, mixing the path and nature as one during the night, and finally, demonstrating the ultimate fruition. 19-357 First, visualize yourself as Chakrasamvara (འཁོར་ལོ་སྡོམ་པ་) in union, with the three channels and four chakras within your body. In the center of the Dharma chakra at your heart, within the central channel, upon a seat of stacked lotus, moon, sun, and Rahu, is your root guru, Vajradhara Heruka (རྡོ་རྗེ་འཆང་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་), with a blue body, three eyes, both peaceful and wrathful, wearing a tiger skin, adorned with bone ornaments and jewels. His two hands hold a vajra and a bell, embracing his consort Vajravarahi (ཕག་མོ་), who is red, holding a curved knife and a skull cup. He sits in vajra posture, his body clear and blazing with light. From the crown of his head, upward to the opening at the upper end of the central channel, up to where it touches the guru Vajradhara, they are stacked like steps, their bodies radiating mostly blue light. Offer prostrations with great compassion and great bodhicitta, etc. Perform the seven-limb practice, realizing your own mind as the guru, etc. Pray to the all-pervading Vajradhara. Pray to Vajrayogini. Pray to the great accomplished Tilopa. Pray to the learned Naropa, the great scholar. Pray to Marpa Chokyi Lodro. Pray to Milarepa Shepa Dorje. Pray to Rechung Dorje Drakpa. Pray to the gurus of the Whispered Lineage. Pray to the kind root guru. 19-358 Bless me to realize the clear light of example. Bless me to manifest the clear light of meaning. Bless me to accomplish the illusory vajra body. Bless me to accomplish the state of union. Having prayed in this way, contemplate that all the gurus of the lineage dissolve into the root guru. Pray to the kind root guru. Pray to the clear light of example, etc., accumulating the aforementioned prayers. Finally, rest in equanimity, with the guru and your own mind inseparable. Then, in the center of the heart chakra, within the central channel of dharmata, on the stamen of a four-petaled blue lotus, the mind of the guru is the essence of Vajra Akshobhya, the blue Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,हूं,hūṃ,吽,seed syllable). Visualize the nature of Vairochana, Ratnasambhava, Amitabha, and Amoghasiddhi, radiating white, yellow, red, and green Anutara light, clockwise from the front. Although it is appropriate to practice vase breathing at the heart after expelling the three breaths, it is less obstructive for beginners to focus on gathering at the navel. There is no contradiction in doing it only a few times, so gather two or three times at the seven places. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is like visualizing the vase-like state in the heart and navel. First, when inhaling, visualize the breath from the nostrils as having five colors, passing through Ro-kyang (Tibetan: རོ་རྐྱང་), gathering at the hole in the heart, and then entering the central channel, dissolving into the various letter forms. When exhaling, visualize the five letter forms radiating their respective colors of light, passing through Ro-kyang (Tibetan: རོ་རྐྱང་) upwards, and from the tip of the nose, emanate countless offering goddesses. With this, offer to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas residing in the countless realms of the ten directions, as well as the mandala of the five families of Heruka fathers and mothers. When inhaling, visualize inviting the mandala of the five families of Heruka from all these mandalas, like transferring from one lamp to another, passing through the nostrils, through Ro-kyang (Tibetan: རོ་རྐྱང་), and entering the central channel from the hole in the heart. When gathering, visualize these all dissolving into the five letter forms, and the particularly blazing light purifies the five poisons, five elements, five aggregates, and all that needs to be purified, so that one can accomplish the five bodies and five wisdoms. Again, when exhaling, visualize the five letter forms radiating their respective colors of light, passing through Ro-kyang (Tibetan: རོ་རྐྱང་) and exiting from the nostrils, pervading all outer and inner phenomena, purifying all impurities, transforming the outer world into a palace and the inner beings into the mandala of Heruka. When inhaling, visualize gathering all the blessings of these back, passing through the nostrils, through Ro-kyang (Tibetan: རོ་རྐྱང་), and entering the central channel from the hole in the heart. When gathering, visualize dissolving into the various letter forms. Like this, through the practice of generation and gathering visualization, practice the seven-section wind and so on many times. Finally, when exhaling, visualize the light of the five letter forms passing through Ro-kyang (Tibetan: རོ་རྐྱང་) and exiting from the nostrils, shining on the outer and inner phenomena that appear as the deity and its support. When inhaling, visualize these appearing as oneself and one's own deity, along with the chakras, melting from above and below into the four-petaled lotus. When gathering, visualize the four letter forms on the lotus, also dissolving clockwise into the Hum (ཧཱུྃ, hūṃ, hūṃ, Destroyer) syllable, and then visualize the Hum (ཧཱུྃ, hūṃ, hūṃ, Destroyer) syllable also gradually disappearing from the bottom up, from the foot to the Nada (Tibetan: ནཱ་ད, Sanskrit: nāda, nāda, Sound), abiding in the state of emptiness and luminosity, this is the post-breakdown meditation. Again, when exhaling outwards, visualize starting from the Nada (Tibetan: ནཱ་ད, Sanskrit: nāda, nāda, Sound), then the Hum (ཧཱུྃ, hūṃ, hūṃ, Destroyer) syllable, and the four letter forms, up to the lotus. When exhaling, visualize the chakras, deity body, outer and inner phenomena, along with the deity mandala, all appearing like illusions. Again, when inhaling, follow the previous order of gathering. Without intentionally gathering the external appearances, but like dust falling on a mirror, visualize oneself melting from above and below into the lotus, the lotus along with the four letter forms dissolving into the Hum (ཧཱུྃ, hūṃ, hūṃ, Destroyer) syllable, the Hum (ཧཱུྃ, hūṃ, hūṃ, Destroyer) syllable dissolving into the Nada (Tibetan: ནཱ་ད, Sanskrit: nāda, nāda, Sound), and the Nada (Tibetan: ནཱ་ད, Sanskrit: nāda, nāda, Sound) also disappearing without a trace, abiding in the state of emptiness and luminosity, this is the complete holding meditation. Again, from the state of luminosity, the Nada (Tibetan: ནཱ་ད, Sanskrit: nāda, nāda, Sound), the Hum (ཧཱུྃ, hūṃ, hūṃ, Destroyer) syllable again --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
